Little Passports

product-LP-Explorer-Kit-smI think I have found the perfect gift for the kid who has everything. Little Passports is a great personalized gift that will have your kids wanting more.

The first package you get comes in a fun travel suitcase (seriously, it does.  And it is super cute).  Your Explorer Kit has an introductory letter from Sofia and Sam (it’s quite lengthy but very interesting), a world wall map (which will look great in your little ones bedroom), a travel passport, fun stickers, an activity sheet, a boarding pass, and access to a series of online games and activities.  Madison and I got to work on the activity sheet together (since she can’t read).  My strongest suit is not geography, so I got a kick out of helping her find the different cities we needed to find on the map.  Madison adores getting mail (what kids don’t), and she thought it was awesome (her words, not mine) that it come personally addressed to her (the box and the letter).  We were even able to share the stickers with her 2 year old brother (which he was happy about).

product-LP-Monthly-Adv-Kit-smEach month, your child will receive a package from Sam and Sofia as they travel to a new country.  They still get a personalized letter from Sam and Sofia, fun souvenirs, an activity sheet, a photo from the country, a passport stamp, a map marker, a suitcase sticker, and a collectible boarding pass to access more online games and activities.

Little Passports is really geared toward kids 5 and up.  They definitely deliver for fun, and they truly get your kids interested.  I highly recommend this!

Smooshies

Smooshies image 6I’ve said it time and time again; I love toys that require my kids to use their imagination. I think a lot of the toys nowadays don’t, and I love when I find ones that do.  A great new toy that fits that bill is Smooshies.  First, they just have a cool name.  My kids just like to say the name more than anything.  LOL.  The Smooshies are very smooshie too, so it is definitely an appropriate name for them.  The best part of Smooshies though is all the creative things that the kids can create.  You are given the body and body parts separately, and you use your imagination to put it together.  You can create whatever you want be it a monster, a dog, or even an alien.  This is so easy to do  my 2 year old can do it (you attach the body parts with Velcro).  The only bad thing is that we have only one , and the kids fight over  it!  Smooshies are being sold exclusively at Joann.com if you want to get one of your own!

Little Tikes Hop & Scoot ATV

Another awesome toy you have to get your little ones is the Hop & Scoot ATV. The ages for this is 1 1/2 – 5 years old. Since it is hard to find toys appropriate for Will’s age (2), it is great when we find winners like this one. The reason I love this is that the kids can bounce to make it go. This is great for us because Will is still trying to figure out how to make things go forward. It has a wide wheelbase, so it is hard for them to tip themselves over. It also works on hand eye coordination, gross motor skills, and coordination. I love the large age range for it, because both my kids can play with it (it’s just getting them to share which seems to be the problem).  It is pretty easy for Will to climb on and make himself go.  He loves having that kind of independence!

My only complaints is it took 3 grown men to put it together (granted, I don’t think they actually read the directions) and Will has a hard time making it scoot.  He just uses his feet, but loves it all the same.

PlaySkool Clipo Hippo

Another awesome toy you need to get your hands on for your little ones is the Clipo Hippo from PlaySkool.  With having a two year old, you find that there aren’t a lot of toys out there for this age group.  We have the problem that the toys are are either too little or too old for him.  The Clipo Hippo is for 18 months and up and easy for your little one to use.  I actually remember having something along the lines of this when I was a kid.  The hippo that comes with this cute, and it allows you to store everything inside of it.  The hippo even has wheels, so you can push it across the floor!  The best part is that this toy requires your kids to use their imagination. There are no batteries involved!  My five year old likes it as much as my two year old, and you can buy extra pieces (including a table) to extend your play time even more!

Smart Snacks Trail Mix & Match Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is over. The winner is Sherri B. Congrats!

prod7317_thThe Smart Snacks Trail Mix & Match is another great toy in our house.  It is for ages 2-6 and works on skills such as tactile exploration and discrimination, matching, patterning, and their fine motor skills.  There is just so many ways to play with this!  I love that everything (when they are done) ends up back in the bag (I love self containing toys.  We tend to not lose the piece then).  Since this packs into itself, it actually makes a great car toy too!  Will likes to take the food and pretend to eat it (though we have had to remind him it’s pretend a few times).  Madison takes it and makes different patterns on the laces.  We can also practice her counting too.  Since there are two laces, they can each have their own and work on their own, and there is less fighting.  This is a 25 piece set that includes 4 pretzels, 4 raisins, 4 peanuts, 4 crackers, 4 chocolate chips and 5 candies with numbers 1-5 printed on 1 side, and 2 laces.  All of this can be cleaned with a damp cloth.  Since there are no batteries involved, it really makes your kids use their imagination.  I can’t tell you how many games we’ve made up with this.

Now, I know you want one of these for your house.  Here’s what you need to do:
