Kido’z Browser

browserMadison is now 5, but she’s been online for quiet a while. She actually knows how to use a computer better than her grandmothers! My fear with letting her on sites like Playhouse Disney and Noggin is that it is super easy for her to end up where she shouldn’t be.  She has often clicked things she shouldn’t.  My fear has always been that somehow she will get herself on a porn site.  The other problem we have is that if she ends up back on the desktop she ends up renaming files on us.  She’s actually just trying to get back to where she is, but it can be messy at times.

Now, the Kido’z Browser takes care of all the problems you’ll have when you let your little ones online.  The system blocks links, scripts, and any other attempts that lead to sites and content which have not been approved, preventing them being viewed by the children.  The parental control account is a parents only, password protected area which allows the parents to manage their kid’s account and content.  Now all content is sent through their moderators.  However, you are able to adjust what your kids see.  You can also easily add content like websites and videos (which for us is great because there is some great stuff on YouTube).  The really cool part of that is that you can share what you added.  The content will be added (after moderation) to the public content stream and others will have access to what you added!  As you can see from the picture to the left also, it is super easy for the kids to navigate.  They don’t have to be able to read to use this browser either(which is great in my house!).

Best of all, this browser is free.  It is a free download and comes with no spyware and no adware.  You can easily protect your kids, and it won’t break the bank for you!  If you have little ones in your house (like me) who use the computer, I highly recommend trying this out.

Countdown To Christmas: Atek Products

If you are a little geeky or even a lot geeky, you will like these next two products a lot.  I know I have enjoyed using them.

logio_secure_pas_48eaade9d8298_150x150The Logio Secure Password Organizer is one of those products that makes your life ten times easier.  We all know that we are suppose to use different passwords for each one of the sites, and we really should not make them too personal, so people cannot guess them.  However, if you do that, how do you remember them then?  I will admit that I don’t follow the rules just because I don’t remember my passwords otherwise.  Heck, I don’t remember my passwords now, and I just use a variation of the same passwords on all the sites I am on.  That is where the Logio Secure Password Organizer comes in handy.  This is literally the size of a credit card.  It can easily fit into your pocket or your wallet.  It is very lightweight, yet it holds a huge punch.  It can hold all of your passwords for you.  All you need to do is remember one password to just get into it.  The data is protected by a sophisticated AES encryption implementation.  It hold over 200 records, and you will have no data loss if battery runs down.  I love that it generates random passwords automatically for you too (so you can change those ones that are the same all over).  There are just so many great features.

If you are a person who can’t ever remember your passwords, use stickies all over your computer screen to remember your passwords, or use the same password everywhere (guilty!), then you need to get your hands on one of these.  The security knowing you’ll not get hacked is worth every cent.

onboard_travel_k_48e5640dbccb3_150x150Another great product has to be the OnBoard Travel Keyboard. This keyboard easily attaches to your laptop. It has all the keys a regular desktop keyboard has. I like it because I have rubbed off the letters on my laptop’s keyboard (yes, I use it that much). It even has separate numeric keys (just like your desktop’s keyboard!). It easily fits into your laptop bag (I tried it in several of ours, and it fit all of them). It even has an inflatable palm rest to help you stay ergonomically correct.  It is also for use with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, and Mac OS X.  The USB cord wraps around keyboard inside cover for convenient storage, and it has a protective sliding cover.

Atek has some other great products that you should definitely check out.  However, these two products are winners for me.

Countdown To Christmas: Internet Password Organizer

With everything being on the internet nowadays, it really seems like you need a password for almost everything you do. Now, for security reason, you should not use the same password twice, make it with both numbers and letters, and you should change your passwords at least every six months.  I don’t know about you, but I belong to several places that I need passwords for, and it is seriously hard to figure out how to keep it all straight.  This is where the Internet Password Organizer comes to the rescue. Why should you use the Internet Password Organizer?  First, no one can hack into it on you.  Nothing is worse than having your computer compromised and the hackers being able to get into everything.  This provides you with a single centralized location in which to store all your online account login information, and the tabbed sheets makes it super easy to find what you are looking for.  Also, I have had my hard drive fail.  If that is the only place you have your passwords saved, you are in big trouble.  This notebook is also very discrete.  Without opening it, most people won’t even know what’s in it.  It also is better than sticky notes all over your computer monitor (now, I know lots of people who do this).  There is even sections that allow you to put in your ISP information, your email settings, your wireless network and router information, and any software licenses you have.

Now, I know a lot of you are wanting one of these, so I will be giving one of these to two lucky winners! Here’s what you need to do:

Pacific Shaving Company

I am not a person who uses shaving gels or creams when I shave my legs in the shower. I use good old fashioned water. I am usually in hurry, and most of the stuff out there makes me break out in hives (the joys of being allergic to life itself).  I recently tried the All Natural Shaving Oil.  Yes, that little bottle will last you close to 100 shaves.  You only use 5 – 7 drops, so you do not need a lot.  It makes a little lather.  There is a couple things I noticed after using this to shave my legs.  First, it didn’t make me break out into hives.  Second, I didn’t need to moisturize my legs after shaving.  I also think it gave me a closer shave.  I also loved that there was no mess to clean up — no extra shaving cream to wipe away.  The other awesome thing is that this is a 1/2 oz bottle, so you can make it through airport security!

I would definitely check out Pacific Shaving Company for all your shaving needs.  If it works this good on my legs, I can only imagine how great it would work on your face or elsewhere.
