Best Buy is one of my most favorite stores.  Usually.  However, last night was an entirely different story (and this review is actually going to be more like rant instead).  On Sundays, Best Buy closes at 7.  I personally thought I had plenty of time.  What I didn’t know was that out of the three people in the computer department, 2 of them were new.  Interesting times, let me tell you.  In the amount of time it took me to get waited on, I could have seriously taken a CDL training course.  The other thing is that I went looking there for a desktop.  This weeks ad had a ton of them in there.  Surprise, Surprise.  Of all the desktops that had in their ad, they had 1 in stock.  Yes, 1 in stock.  They had some not in their ad but the CPUs along were over $1,000.  Ummm, no thanks.  I ended up walking out of Best Buy at 8:00 pm — one hour after they closed due to their employees having no training!

Sunscreen

Now that we are heading into summer, I have been on the lookout for sunscreen for me and kids (more so me though — I have some spf50 for them already).  It is really hard to find a facial product that isn’t greasy and slimy.  I find that the more greasy that a sunscreen feels, the more it makes my face break out.  Trust me, I do not need any more help in my breakouts — I do fine enough on my own on that one.  When I saw that Screen Inc. had some dermatologist approved facial sunscreen, I knew that I had to try it.

The first kind I looked at is chicscreen.  Now, this is spf 16+, and you should be reapplying every two hours to keep the protection strong.  The nice thing is that you can apply this under your makeup.  I had to giggle a bit when I read the warnings on this.  The two things I found humorous was the warning that I was a smart gal so I shouldn’t eat it and that no boys are allowed to use it since this product is was designated for the feminine crowd.  This was not tested on animals.

Secondly, there was the manscreen.  I loved this stuff.  This also is spf 16+ and should be reapplied every 2 hours.  Directions for use:  shower, shave, screen.  No man can screw that up.  Bill liked that it didn’t smell fruity.  For some reason, he doesn’t want to smell like a dozen of roses when he walks out the door.  The warnings on here also made me smile:  apply only to you dapper face, for manly men only — no youngsters, and use your noodle — don’t swallow this stuff.

Next, there is the teenscreen.  Same as above — spf 16+ and make syre you keep applying it for protection.  To quote the directions, just like deodorant, use Teen Screen daily.  The warning I liked the best is “as much as you love avocado and green tea, don’t swallow this product”.

Lastly, there is the tweenyscreen.  This one has a tropical fruit scent (you know, the one Bill didn’t want to smell like when using sunscreen which makes me want to use it all the more!).  It is spf 16+ and needs to be reapplies after 2 hours like the rest.

This sunscreen is already in complience with the upcoming standards on testing and packaging from the FDA.  They also have received the Seal Of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation.  Personally, I liked the sunscreen so much that I am extremely excited to see that they are going to be coming up with a spf30 lipscreen and a spf 35 extreme sunscreen.  I am also able to extend a special discount to all of you.  If you enter BLOGGER10 with your order, you will save 10%!  This is a sunscreen you should try out this summer and you’ll never go back!

Clear Excellence® Sparkling Flavored Beverages

I just tried doing a google search on this awesome water and I can’t find anything about it which is crazy. I decided that the world definitely needs to know about this water.

We originally bought the Clear Excellence® Sparkling Flavored water, because we were having a hard time getting Madison to drink water. The plan was to buy flavored water and see what happens. Actually, this turned out better than we expected. This water is carbonated, so Madison thinks it is soda. (Yes, I am a bad mom and didn’t correct her.) She thinks it is awesome that we buy her soda every time we go shopping. Granted, this isn’t as exciting as say getting a new pair of sexy shoes, but exciting in our house nonetheless).

Madison now drinks water and loves it.  I have tried a few of the flavors (and there are a lot of them), and they aren’t too bad.  Mommy might have to start drinking water now too.  When on sale, I can get a 1L bottle for $.69.  Not on sale they are usually a dollar a piece.  However, if it gets Madison drinking water it is well worth it.

Web2Submitter

I recently purchased the Web2Submitter to help me submit posts to social media sites. Not only do I submit posts for my work, I do many for my own sites and posts. I was finding that I was spending hours on this tedious task and absolutely hating it. Someone recommended that I check out the Web2Submitter, so I did.

One of the things that I liked best about this was that they don’t promise the world to you (you know that they aren’t full of it then!). This isn’t black hat at all. You aren’t going to be spamming sites. For me, this kind of stuff was my main concern. I looked at a lot of submitters that were a lot more money. However, they were involved in the type of SEO I am not interested it. I personally bill my time out at a minimum of $15 an hour or more. At $47, the Web2Submitter pays for itself after a couple of uses. I seriously cut my submission time down by more than half.

Now, I personally needed something easy. I don’t want to have to read a manual to figure out how to use something. Now, Web2Submitter does all the hard work for you. Here’s what the interface looks like:

It literally requires you to fill in the blanks and that is it. It does not get any easier than this. You are able to set it up so that all of your passwords are saved. You use the software to log into each site. You also fill in the blanks for the title, URL, tags, description, etc. When you go to submit to each site, it will automatically fill those in for you. Now, my only complaint with this software is that it doesn’t submit to enough sites. There are a couple I would love to see added on like Mixx and Thoof. However, I also love that I can use the URL bar up on top and go to the additional sites that I want to submit to. Instead of searching for the URL, description, title, etc. again, it is all listed to my left.

Now, I have contacted their support for some issues I was having (it ended up being an issue on my end not theirs). I figured they wouldn’t get back to me ever, and I had a response in less than 24 hours! Also, this is software for life — there is no monthly fees that you have to worry about or anything like that. There is also a 60 day money back guarantee. If this doesn’t live up to your standards, you can get your money back!

Honestly, I have saved countless hours using this. If you do any sort of submitting to social media sites, you need to get this and save yourself time and headaches.

Grants Appliance

If you live in the Chicagoland area, Grants Appliance is a place you want to stop. They have everything from washers and dryers to stoves to dishwashers to mattress and plasma tvs. I am sure they even have plasma tv mounts there! We first started using Grants when we lived in Aurora. They pretty much beat every price around. If they don’t the make and model that you are looking for on their show floor, they will order it for you (we did this with our dishwasher!). In my current house, we bought the washer, dryer, dishwasher, and stove from them. Their delivery guys are great too! If you are looking for brand name items for a great price, Grants is your one stop shop!

Maytag Microwaves

This is my brand new microwave. Isn’t it awesome? It is a one of those over the range microwaves that allow you to run a fan and have some extra light over your stove. It has 1,000 cooking watts, 10 power levels, electronic touch controls, and a precision cooking system. This has been the best microwave I have ever owned. To make my top ten list, it has to make popcorn without burning it. This seems to be a hard test. I have never owned one before that actually didn’t burn my popcorn. Granted, this kind of popcorn isn’t as good as popcorn made with popcorn machines, but I don’t have time for that. This ones passes the test. It is awesome! Almost all the kernels pop, and it isn’t burnt! Mounting this one wasn’t difficult either. I think it took Bill and my brother in law about fifteen minutes. If you are in the market, this Maytag is one you should get!

Cities Of The Underworld

This was an awesome show we caught tonight on The History Channel. The city they featured tonight was Chicago. Some of the things they went over we already knew (like they split the first atom under a football field here). However, we learned about an underground railroad that use to deliver goods to the department stores in the 20’s. They even showed us how that tunnel was built (I hope those workers had a Scranton personal injury lawyer on retainer since the working conditions were not great). Now, since I am not from here originally, it makes sense I did not know a lot of things they showed us. However, Bill has lived here all his life, and he learned a ton of new information too! We are Discovery Channel freaks, but I think we have found another channel we are going to start watching regularly.

They check out different cities each week that have a world underneath the streets. I highly recommend setting up your Tivo to tape!
