Dirty Jobs

The Discovery Channel has another great show that I have to tell you about. It is called Dirty Jobs. This show is great since the whole family can watch it. The premise is pretty easy — people write in with the “dirty job” they have. Mike Rowe, the host, goes to their job site and does their dirty job for a day. It is amazing, because there are so many jobs out there that you never knew that existed. He has done everything from being a skull cleaner to a sausage linker to a hot tar roofer in the middle of summer. He’s taken gum off the sidewalks, cleaned the gas tanks in planes, and cleaned the sewers in New York (at least, I think it was in New York). There was even a show with birds that puked on him. Sometimes, you truly wonder if he should get some Raleigh personal injury lawyers on staff, because I don’t think he always knows what he is in for. They have never shown him get hurt (yet). However, we have seen some definite OSHA violations.  If you need to appreciate your job or want some great TV viewing, then tune in to Dirty Jobs.

Boat Angels

Do you have a boat just laying around not being used anymore? Do you just not know what to do with it? Do you not want to go through the trouble of having to sell it? Boat Angel is for you then. You are able to donate your boat and get a tax deduction. They will also come to you to pick it up, so you do not have to even bother to drive it anywhere. They also take cars, planes, and RVs if you need to get rid of any of those.

The money that has been raised has made over 2,000,000 meals, funded medical operations, given supplies to schools, funded a boat angel outreach center, and has helped in world wide emergencies. These are just a few of the places that the donations have been used towards. There is quite a long list.

How does this work? First, you need to call BoatAngel at 1-800-227-2643 or you can fill out their online form. They will then send you a disposable camera for you to take a picture of your boat. They then can see the condition of it. You then return the camera, and your boat will get picked up in 7 - 14 days. Pretty easy, and it goes for a good cause.

Now that you no longer have a boat, you will definitely need to start looking at some travel deals. There are tons of vacation packages and cruise vacations all times of the year. However, make sure you look into cheap travel insurance and your
car rental before you book flights. Nothing is worse than when your flight on time turns into your flight not on time, and you are stuck somewhere.
