Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff

My husband hates snakes which is why I think my kids like this book so much. As you can probably tell, Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff is about a rattlesnake and a little town. The sheriff tries to run a friendly snake out of town, but he (the snake) turns around and saves the day. This is a great story about not judging a book by its cover (no pun intended – LOL). Each page only has a few sentences and lots of great pictures, so it’s great for kids with short attention spans. The story really holds your attention especially when the snake is saving the day!

Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff is a book I would recommend to kids of all ages.

My kids chose a penguin one to try out. I have to admit that this pillow is quite comfortable. My kids fight over who gets to lay on it. I love that these are sooo cute too. You can easily get your kids whatever pillow they like. One of Madison’s friends recently got one of these for her birthday, and all the girls absolutely loved it! The best thing is that these are so easy to travel with be it in a car or a plane. They don’t take up a lot of room, yet give your child the comfort of home. This should be the must have present for the year!

Pick Pigs

Even wonder how to teach your little ones to save? I think we’ve all been there and Pick Pigs has made it a little easier for us parents. Pick Pigs are three piggy banks that are definitely durable. My kids have yet to find a way to break them (LOL). Each bank is labeled with “saving”, “sharing”, and “spending”. The banks also come with a book that shows kids how to manage their money at a level that they can understand. There are clear real world examples given. The red label is the saving pig. It’ll remind your kids to stop and save. The blue labeled pig is the Sharing pig. Blue is a giving, caring color. The green pig is the spending pig. It gives your kids the green light and spend a little.

Madison loves her I Dog Plush Puppy. Not only is it a cuddly stuffed animal, but it’s a speaker for your I-pod! All you have to do is plug it into your I-pod or MP3. No batteries required! My kids love it because it is just so darn cute! It is for ages 6 and up and is available in variety of colors. This is great for the kids who has everything!

Zhu Zhu Pets

As many of you know, I do not want a real animal in my house. We have fish, and that’s enough for me for pets. However, my kids love pets and Zhu Zhu Pets fit that bill. It’s a win/win situation for both me and the kids. I can honestly say that I think the Zhu Zhu Pets hamster and accessories are going to be one of the hottest items this Christmas.

I love this hamster, because besides the batteries, I don’t have to anything. They don’t stink, they don’t have to be fed, and they don’t die (Not that I am too worried that Will would squeeze the life out of hamster but you never know). They run around just as much as real hamster and act like one too (when you pick them up and pet their nose, they squeak at you. They actually have around 40 different sounds they make.) There are 5 different hamsters to pick from, so you can get one that fits your kids the best. There are a ton of accessories that you can get like the funhouse, wheel and tunnel, mobile and garage, spiral slide and ramp, adventure ball, surfboard and sleep dome, skateboard and U-turn, pet bed and blanket, and pet carrier and blanket.

You should be able to find these at Walmart, Toys R Us, and Target though I’ve heard that they are somewhat hard to find. This is definitely the must get gift this year, so make sure you get your hands on one of these Zhu Zhu Pets!
