I love Lands End. They have some of the greatest products. They are priced great for the quality you get. In case you don’t know, Lands End has more than just clothes. I have a Lands End jacket (I did a review of it a while back), luggage, and slippers too!
Madison picked out these really cute kid slippers herself. I was leaning more toward some that looked like ice skates, and she was like “no mom, I like the penguins”, so as you see, she won that argument. We were in the market for some slippers for all of us for the basement. As you may know, we remodeled and put down tile on the floor. However, that tile gets really, really, really cold, and it hasn’t gotten below 0 yet. Also, my house is pretty much all hardwood floors. Socks don’t work well, because everyone ends up slipping and sliding and falling all over. Madison told me they were super warm and then makes me touch her sweaty feet when she shows me (the joys of being a mom).
Now, Mommy took care of herself too. I picked up a pair of these travel slippers. They are extra flexible for easy packing and are super soft. They also have a slip resistant outsole. Since I go to quite a few conferences, these will come in really handy. Also, I have been using them around the house. These also save my feet from my ice cold floors (both upstairs and downstairs). My husband is liking them since I am not sticking my ice cold feet on him anymore.
Another piece we have added to our travel arsenal is this wheeled duffel bag. Can I tell you how awesome it is? Without anything in it, it is small enough to fit under my bed. Space is it a premium in my house, so that is so helpful! It also comes in extremely helpful when we go up to visit my parents. We are trying to get 4 people in two tiny bedrooms, so space is limited there too! It is made out of denier ballistic nylon which is resistant to tears, abrasion, stains, and moisture. Basically, it wil take a lickin’ and still look great! You can even get it monogrammed!
Now, all I know you want to know how to get your hands on this stuff, so I am having a giveaway. The winner gets to pick which item he/she wants! Here’s what you need to do:

I always have to laugh when I read about everyone else besides me who hates doing laundry. Actually, it isn’t the “doing” of the laundry we hate — it is the folding and putting away. What I tend to do, and yes I know better, is leave everything in the baskets way to long, and it ends up looking like I didn’t even wash it. The other thing that happens (and that I hate) is when you wear a pair of dress pants once (and they are dry clean only), and they look horribly wrinkly after. The Refresh’n Dryer Towel is one of those items you wonder how you lived without. It works really easy. All you do is pick up the clothes that you want to unwrinkle, through them in your dryer, get the towel wet, and put it in. You then start the dryer and dry for around 10 - 15 minutes. That is it! Your clothes will come out great and unwrinkled! You can use this on jeans, slacks, shorts, dresses, sweaters, etc. Honestly, this will save you a lot on dry cleaning costs when you are just taking your stuff in to get the wrinkles out (am I the only one who does that?)
Here’s what I love about the Refresh’n Dryer Towel. It is easy to use. With two little ones, I can’t have intricate directions. There are no chemicals involved, so I don’t have to worry about my kids getting into it. The towel is able to kill bacteria and odor (with the steam) and also traps lint, dust and dirt. I will be saving on dry cleaning costs. In this economy, if I can save on anything, I’ll happily take it. I also love that you can save approximately 700 gallons of water and 90 kwh of electricity when used on wash and wear clothing. Lastly, I love it, because it really does work!

If you have athletes in your house, you definitely need to look into getting some Cleatskins. This is one of those products that it is hard to believe no one has come up with before, because it is so genius. They are designed to fit over cleated shoes and quickly and conveniently take athletes (you know, those people who don’t need to take Phentermine to lose weight) from the field to the street. These fit over all types of cleats: baseball, soccer, football and more. I remember when I played soccer in high school, and I would have at least two pairs, if not three pairs, of shoes I brought school. I hated that after practice or a game, we always had to change into a different pair of schools. I know that this is something we will definitely be investing in when my kids get a tad older and are in sports. All of the floors in my house are real hardwood, and I will not have them marking it up. They also protecting your cleats from wear and tear, and are machine washable (that has to be a mom favorite right there!). It also creates a sealed barrier which keeps dirt and grass out of your home and car.
If you have an athlete in your family, this is the perfect Christmas gift. These come in a multitude of sizes and colors, so you should have no problem finding a Cleatskin for the favorite athlete in your life.

Madison and I recently tried the Briarpatch’s I Spy Memory Game. This game will help your child develop their memory, matching, critical thinking, reading and oral language skills. It also teaches them to take turns, follow rules, and sharing. The object of this game is to match pairs of cards. The great thing about this game is that you can really tailor it to the age of the child you are playing with. The directions had several different versions depending on the age of the child you were playing with. Right now, Madison (who is 4) struggled a tad with this. The cards that you are trying pair are not identical. The object itself is identical. However, the two cards may have a different background or with different lighting. That being said, I do like the detail on the cards. They are great pictures. The basic memory game is played with the blue cards. You are able to play a riddle game with the red cards and the blue cards (this would be for an older child). The red cards all have riddles on it like “A dish on a duck, a bow on a bell, a bird in a cage, a pearl in the shell” Then on the bottom of the card that you should find the 4 cards that match this riddle. Some of these riddles Madison was able to do. This is just one version of how to play with both sets of cards. There are a couple of other versions that can be played also. Madison and I ended up making up our own rules and games with this which was just as fun! We counted clocks and toys and matched colors.
I would highly recommend the I Spy Memory Game! We had a lot of fun with it, and I can see it being a game that your children will enjoy playing as they grow older.
