I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

Yes, I know, it is hard to believe that I actually watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. What may surprise you (heck, it surprised me) the movie wasn’t half bad. Now, I wouldn’t give it 5 stars or probably watch it again. However, it was entertaining enough to watch the whole thing.

Larry (Kevin James) is a widower with two kids. The only way for him to change his insurance policy changed is to get married. Larry is a firefighter, and is partnered with his best friend Chuck (Adam Sandler). To help Larry out, Chuck and Larry get a domestic partnership and get married in Canada. Should be the end of the story right? Wrong. They then have to prove that their relationship is the real deal. The jokes sometimes are really, really bad and a little to stereotypical. However, there is a great scene where the two men fight and call up each others shortcomings that need to be addressed. All in all, it is a movie you should see.

The Adventures Of Elmo In Grouchland

The Adventures Of Elmo In Grouchland is one of cutest kids movies I have seen a while. Elmo won’t share his blanket with Zoe (his friend) and ends up losing it in Oscar’s can. He journeys to Grouchland to get back his blanket and along the way he learns a lot about taking others feelings into consideration. Huxley (the villain) has his blanket, along with a lot of other things that don’t belong to him and Elmo tries to get his blanket back. It definitely teaches the kids about sharing without them even realizing it. It is a little over an hour, so it perfect for little ones attention spans. There are even a few jokes thrown in there for the adults! However, this is truly a kids movie.  It is a Sesame Street classic with all the gang.

Bee Movie

I’ll be honest. I did not want to watch the Bee Movie. I cannot stand Jerry Seinfeld, and since his voice is the lead character here, I was a bit leary. However, this turned out to be a really cute movie.  Instead, it is about the life of a bee. Barry (Jerry Seinfeld) becomes disillusioned about having to pick a job for the rest of his short life. He goes out of the hive with the pollen collectors to see what is out there and finds out that us humans have been stealing bee honey. To fix this injustice, he sues the human race. I don’t want to give away too much information, but it is a seriously cute movie. There were a lot of jokes that I thought were funny that went right over Madison’s head. However, she too enjoyed the movie. The moral of this movie is that one bee (or human) can make a difference, and that is a great lesson.

Flushed Away

We just rented this movie. I had heard a lot of bad reviews regarding it, so we didn’t bother to see it till now. This movie is actually pretty good.

Flushed Away is about Roddy (Hugh Jackman) who ends up flushed down the toilet. The story is about his adventures in the sewer and Ratropolis. Rita (Kate Winslet) tries to help Roddy get home. Both Madison and I enjoyed this movie. There are jokes for both of us. Now that I have seen it about 20 times, I can honestly say that I catch something new each time. The animation is great. My favorite part is the slugs. They really have nothing to do with the storyline, but they will make you giggle throughout the whole movie.

We will be buying this movie. I just haven’t decided if it will be for Christmas or sooner.
