I love a blogger with a sense of humor and A Bird’s Life definitely fits that bill. Maybe I am just weird, but I found this statement on her about page incredibly hilarious: I currently live in Albany, NY with two human roommates and three hamsters. (I got a kick out of the human roommates part in case you don’t get my sense of humor.) The template on this blog is one the most pleasing ones that I have seen in a long time. It is very calming and uncluttered. Almost all her posts, make me laugh. I love her post about corn not qualifying as a fruit and her hamster video. If you want to be entertained and enjoy yourself reading a blog, A Bird’s Life is one place you should stop.

I very rarely come across a blog that makes me click. However, Cultured Views does it for me. Her reviews are so interesting and entertaining that you can’t help but click the link in her posts. I love her style. Like me, she also includes interesting tidbits about her family and why she likes something. Her reviews are definitely personal. I also enjoy that she has one or more pictures in her posts also. You have to make sure that you check her post out about the Baby Bottom Butter (I don’t think I would want that stuff in my baby cribs). When you read her Wendy’s fact page, I couldn’t help but nod and laugh when I came across this line: “I have five kids and they will tell you I worry too much; nag just as much and never buy them what they really want for Xmas each year.” I luck out that Madison doesn’t know what she wants yet. However, when she does I’m probably not going to buy what she really wants either. LOL
If you are looking for new blogs to read, this is one that should make your list. You have everything you could ever need — humor, personality, and great posts!

If I would let Madison write my blog, this would top her list of favorite things for all time. If you liked Lego Star Wars, then you will love Lego Star WarsII: The Original Trilogy. How does the Lego version differ from the regular Star Wars games? Well, they are rated E (for Everyone). They are also easier for kids to play. Also, you have unlimited lives. If your character dies, it just starts back up again. There is some humorous scenes like when you walk in on the Storm Troopers taking a bath (they have swim trucks on!) and you get to see the innerworkings of the Death Star with all its bulk cable and metal and stuff (you have to blow it up too). Bill even loves this new games. There are so many new levels and tricks you have to learn to get through it! Madison is only 4, and she can beat most adults at this game (she’ll also tell you exactly how to play it). Granted, it isn’t the most educational thing for kids. However, it makes a great reward. It keeps their attention (both kids and adults). It isn’t too hard for either age group either. It is pretty easy to figure out and is very entertaining. This is a must have for any Star Wars fan!

Idiocracy is one of those movies that you don’t intend on watching but you get sucked into it (trust me, I’ve seen it 3 times now and none where on purpose). The basic premise of this movie is that Luke Wilson becomes part of a government experiment and wakes up to find himself 500 years in the future. What he finds is truly sad. He instantly goes from average Joe to the smartest man in the world! The people in the future no longer think for themselves and buy into pretty much anything you tell them. You could easily tell them land for sale Branson, and they would be wanting to buy that, Hollywood, and the Golden Gate Bridge from you! It was a sad state. The movie is actually quite humorous, and it is scary that, at times, you can actually see some of this happening in our society now. People buy into commercialism and don’t bother doing research on a product. They just take the company’s word for it (Watch the scene in the movie about actually using water to get crops to grow). Heck, last election cycle worked like that too, didn’t it? Overall, this isn’t a movie that would make it to my top ten movies. However, it is a great Sunday afternoon flick to watch that doesn’t require a lot of thinking, and you definitely get some good laughs.

The Monster at the End of this Book ranks as one of my top ten books of all time for kids. I love this book as a child and was super excited when my sister bought this for my daughter. Madison and I often read this together with her giggling at all the funny ways Grover tries to get you not to turn the next page, because he is afraid of the monster at the end of the book. (Spoiler here) What Grover doesn’t realize is that he is the monster at the end of the book. The closer you get to the end, the more upset and scared he gets. By the end, he really needs to go on some carnival cruises, because he gets that worked up. It is a great book with humor and suspense and a happy ending.

I don’t even have dogs, and I want one of these plush chew toys. Now, these aren’t made by the company that you may have heard about that is having all the problems (shipping, merchandise not being quite what people thoughts, etc.). For $14.95, you get a 13 inch plush toy for your dog to enjoy and chew on. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these will go towards helping dogs who have been abused.
I had to write about this product just because it is one of the funniest things I think I have even seen. This is worth buying just for the humor value alone.

Take Me Out Of The Bathtub is another book that Madison loves. It is super cute. They change the words of songs like Take Me Out To The Ballgame to Take Me Out Of The Bathtub and I’ve Been Working On The Railroad to I’ve Been Cleaning Up My Bedroom. Madison loves to sing along when we read this book together. It is a classic and a riot too! My only problem is that sometimes I can’t remember the tunes to the song. Here’s Take Me Out of the Bathtub:
Take me out of the bathtub
Take me out of the suds
I’ve been here soaking since half past two
I feel so sudsy and wrinkle~y, too
Oh, I washed all over my body
My head, my toes, in between
I used one, two, three bars of soap
Take me out . . . I’m clean
This song actually has more versus, but you can definitely see the humor that is intertwined here. No songs about gold chains, but there is one about a dirty diaper.
