Toobeez

If you are on the lookout for a great toy for your kids this Christmas, Toobeez is the one gift you must have in your house.  It is a favorite in my house and will be in yours too.  This is one of the few toys on the market that actually make your kids think which is why I love it!

Toobeez is basically one big tinker toy set that is super easy to put together.  If my 4 year old can do it, anyone can do it.  All you do is take the tube and push the end into the hole on the spheres.  You then turn it slightly until it clicks.  That’s it!  Now, there are about 100 different things you can make with these.  You can make simple structures (which is where Madison is at) and every intricate structures like a super fighter jet.  There are just so many things I really like about this.  Like I said before, it makes my kids think and design.  It is not too hard for my daughter to put together, so she does not get frustrated and is able to build what she wants without too much help.  I remember building forts as a kids with chairs and blankets, and I have to admit that this Toobeez set with the slide on curtains is just so much cooler.  Best of all, it comes with its own zippered storage bag, so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces!

If you decide that you kids must have this, they are running an awesome deal.  If you purchase the 57 piece set, you get an additional 15 piece kit ($24.99 value), The Big Idea Book with tips for enjoying your TOOBEEZ ($4.99 value), and free shipping ($24.00 value)!  Also, make sure you check out their giveaway!  They are giving away a free set to a lucky winner.  How cool is that?  If you are sick of the noisy toys that don’t require your kids to think, then Toobeez would be a perfect fit in your home.

Countdown to Christmas: KidDesktop

Do your kids play on the Internet? Do you worry about them deleting your files or renaming them? Do you worry that they will end up on some porn site or worse? If you answered yes, you need to get KidDesktopKidDesktop was designed for children between the ages of 3 and 7. It gives them a safe learning experience, and you don’t have to worry about them deleting or renaming any of your files.
KidDesktop has a customized start screen and activity bar. You are able to customize it with activities, games, and websites that your children enjoy (for us, we did Noggin and Playhouse Disney. Madison knows those sites like the back of her hand). They even have the option to download and view pictures. (I can see some adults using this feature too, since it is about 100 times easier than my photo program). They even have a feature that allows you to search YouTube. For us, that is the greatest feature. We like to look for things on YouTube, but I never know when we start a video what exactly we are opening. Another great feature is that you can set time limits too! If I would let her, I think Madison could play on the computer for eight hours straight! I also like that the help menu is spoken too. Madison can’t read yet, so this helps her figure it out for herself without having to get me.

If you have kids in your house between the ages of 3 and 7 and let them on the computer, you definitely need to get a copy of this in your house! The internet will never be 100% safe, but this definitely helps make it safer for your kids.

Countdown To Christmas: The Art Of The Apology

Ever lose your temper and just not know the right way to apologize or even if you should? Then The Art Of The Apology is the book for you.  This guide will show you how to make an effective apology in any situation – at work, at home, or in life, and offers practical advice on how to recover from mistakes and restore good relationships.  This book has great advice to figuring out why you are apologizing at all (what is your goal for your apology) and what you need to do before you apologize (like how far will you go to make amends).  Those are just the first two chapters!  You will also learn the six essential elements to an effective apology, when to apologize, the most common ways to screw up an apology and how to avoid them, how to accept an apology and learning from your apologies.  This makes a great gift for young people who are about to go off to college, adults at any stage of their careers, or anyone who could use a little help learning to apologize.

Countdown To Christmas: Cuskiboo

If you know any pregnant mommies this Christmas, you need to get them a Cuskiboo.  This is the softest lovie ever.  It also is suckable and also has a tag for the baby to play with.  It is made from special bamboo yarn.  It is also ultra absorbent, antibacterial, eco friendly, biodegradable, and easily packed for travel.  What more could you ask for?

Now, mommy and daddy should sleep with this first, so it can get your scents.  Then, you can give it the baby to enjoy.  The part I love the best is that this is machine washable, and anyone who has had newborns knows how important that is.  Now, you can buy these singly or in a duo pack.  I would recommend the duo pack myself.  That way, if one is in the wash, there still is the other one available.  Mommy can also use the baby’s smell on this to help her breastfeed.

I know a pregnany mommy that I will definitely be getting one of these for.  I think it is an awesome idea, and I personally love that it is so environmentally friendly.  Also, since we travel so much, I love that it is small enough to fit inside your diaper bag quite easily.  Christmas, baby shower, baby birth . . . this makes a great present for all three!

Bathtub Assistant

Sometimes you come across a product that you know another mother had to have designed. The Bathtub Assistant is one of these products. Designed by a mother whose son hit the faucet in the tub when he slipped out of her hands (and ended up with a black eye), it allows you to support yourself without having to lean against the tub.

First, the thing I love the most about this product is that it keeps mommy dry.  Nothing is more frustrating to me than having to change my clothes after giving my kids a bath because I leaned up against the side of the tub that happened to be all wet (and this ends up happening more times than not).  Instead, you are leaning against a cushion that is actually quite comfortable.  Second, I was able to put this together all by myself with a little help from the directions.  I personally hate products that require me to be brain surgeon to figure out.  These aren’t those type of directions.  Third, it is adustable for short people like me!  I was able to use it and so was my husband (who is a foot taller than me!)  Lastly, The Bathtub Assistant fold up, so when not in use, it doesn’t take up much space at all.  Also, it makes it super easy to travel with too!

If you are looking for a prodcut to make your life easier if you have little ones, then this is it.  It also would make a great baby shower gift or baby gift for the new moms in your life!
