Every since Madison saw the Alice in Wonderland play in her Kiddie Kamp over the summer, she has fallen in love with the story. Until recently, we only had the movie. However, now we have the book, and it is one of her most favorite books now. She loves how they emphasize words by making them bigger than the rest and have them go in different directions. She laughs and asks what those works say. It makes the book more fun. Every other page has an illustration which allows your little one to make their own side stories. The story is just retold and still has the favorite lines like “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date and the queen of hearts yelling “off with her head”. Alice in Wonderland is a classic that everyone should have in their home.
Ever hear of Olive Sandwiches? If not, you are missing some of the funniest things out there. They offer a broad line of retro-humor products for women of all ages. Seriously, there is something for everyone, and you don’t have to have a weird sense of humor like me to enjoy it (or even to find it funny). I recently tried out two of their products (actually, at the same time too!). First, I tried out the bath salts. They smell good. I also locked myself in the bathroom, so I could truly enjoy them and give an unbiased review (now, the hubby didn’t believe that, but I still locked myself in there). You know you have a great bath salt when it makes you laugh at the packaging. I included the image that I thought extremely funny. For my bath, I tried out the brown sugar fig and truly enjoyed it. While I was enjoying my bath without interruption, I also tried out some of Olive Sandwiches Chocolates. These too have funny sayings on them like I taught Santa Everything He Knows and Visions of Sugar Daddies Danced In Her Head. These organic chocolate bars taste awesome. Now, you don’t have to eat them while you are in the tub like I did, but I got to enjoy some alone time with chocolate, relaxation, and humor. Thank you Olive Sandwiches!
K.W. Knudsen Family’s Sensible Sippers are a huge hit in my house with both me and my kids. The kids like the taste and cartoons on them. However, mom (that would be me) loves them for a ton of other reasons. First, it is certified organic juice. Now, I don’t know about you, but I cut my kids juice. I am going to let you all in on a little secret that I am doing to do for Christmas this year. See the picture on the left? Those are stamps. I made them over at PictureItPostage and will be affixing them to all my Christmas cards this year. Tell me that isn’t the cutest thing you have ever seen? There are just so many uses for these stamps. You can do what I did and put them on Christmas cards. However, I can see them being used for baby announcements, engagements, holidays and graduations. You can’t make an invitation more customized and personal than this. Plus, you don’t see stamps like this too often. That makes it unique, and people will love it! You will be the talk of everyone you send these too!
How hard is it to make these? It is not hard at all. PictureItPostage allows you to either create these stamps on their site or you can download a program, and you can create them on your desktop. You can customize the background color and what color the text is on them too! It literally took me about 10 minute to completely put this together. Shipping took no time at all. Well, the first question you need to ask yourself is how fast do you type? Personally, I type pretty darn fast (over 70 wpm). However, what Dragon Naturally Speaking does for you is allows you to talk, and it types what you say. You do need to “say” the paragraph breaks and punctuation. However, you end up with typing 150 words per minute! Most people I know cannot type that fast! It makes it much easier to generate more content in less time too. I know when I am composing a post like this I am actually saying the words in my head anyway. However, my head works faster than my fingers. That is why I love this product. Do you do podcasts? You can use Dragon to convert your podcasts into a transcript that you can also post on your site! There are just so many uses that I can come up with for this. I know people who use this and absolutely loved it including the New York times (click here for the NY Times Review of DNS10). Some other uses include people with disabilities such as dyslexia and even people with carpal tunnel who can’t type anymore. Heck, I’ve heard that John McCain doesn’t use the computer due to his injuries suffered when he was a POW. This is would even be helpful for him!
