Online Coupons

I am all for saving money.  What woman doesn’t want to save a couple of bucks when she is shopping?  Nowadays, most of us have moved our shopping online and love coupon codes.  FindSavings.com is a great place to get your coupon codes to save yourself a couple of bucks.  You can easily find what you are looking for.  On the left sidebar, you can search for your coupon either by using the category list or the store list.  On the right sidebar, you can see all the new coupons that have been added into their system.  The middle column has all of your featured deals.  I personally am loving the HP Home Store Offers.  Our HP desktop that we have now was custom built in 2000, and it still works!  However, it is a tad slow compared to my laptop (which I bought in January).  I had been thinking that we should do another custom built cpu, and I just found a coupon for $400 off!  They even have coupon codes for my most favorite store:  Best Buy.  I can definitely always spend my hard earned money there.  What is my favorite part of this site?  I can sign up to get an email with the latest codes.  Who wouldn’t want ways to save money sitting in their email?  I know I am signing up for a couple of these coupon emails with my favorite stores.  If you are looking for a one stop shop for your coupons, FindSavings.com is it.

Cooking With Kimberly

Another cooking blog I came across that you need to check out is Cooking With Kimberly.  The first thing that will catch your attention with this blog is her beautiful header.  There is so much food in there that I couldn’t even name it all.  It is a great attention getter.  Some of the other things you really need to check out is some of her advice posts.  I personally enjoyed the one on how to peel an onion.  I’ll be honest, I never thought of doing it this way.  It is defintely something I will be trying the next time I have to make something that has onions in it.  Her category listing also makes it very easy to find what you are looking for on her blog (makes me want to recategorize my cooking blog!).  She even has cool food gifts! If you are looking for a great cooking blog to check out, this is your one stop shop!  There is a little something for everyone (except if you are looking for instructions on speaker mounting — that one you’ll need a home improvement blog!).

Criminal Minds

One of the best crime shows out there is Criminal Minds.  Its a tad gory since it is stories about serial killers.  I find the show very interesting, and you have a hard time guessing the endings.  They did a great job over the last season or so when they added new characters.  Not only do you get caught up in the drama or the crimes, you also get catch up in the drama of the characters’ life.  This is one of those shows that you catch once, and you find yourself addicted.

Parents Kitty Keyboard

If you need a keyboard for you kids to play with, this is definitely right up your alley. Last Christmas, my mom was trying to find a keyboard that wasn’t too old for her (which most on the market are). She found this one at Target. As you can tell from the picture, it is super cute. It is also age appropriate. Madison isn’t ready for things like gold chains or dress up clothes (well, she doesn’t have much interest in the later).  The cool thing is that Will likes to play with this and I have even caught my husband messing with it.

There are 20 songs that you can play along to, 4 instrumental sounds, and even Meow! sounds!  It also has a record feature, so they can record their own compositions.  They are able to control the beat, volume, and tempo of the music quite easily too.  It has an auto-off function.  The keyboard starts purring when it is about to shut itself off.   There are sing alongs and 7 cat songs.

All in all, this keyboard is a cute and a great buy.  Your kids will get a ton of playing time with it.  (It is also extremely hardy since Will pulls it off the couch all the time and I have caught Madison standing on it, and it still works!)

28 Weeks Later

Bill and I caught 28 Weeks Later last night. This is definitely not a movie to watch when your kids are up. I have to admit that this was one of the better horror flicks I have ever seen. Being a horror flick, you do have to give up some of the logic of the real world. This is the sequel to the movie 28 Days. The plot is pretty limited, but the gore is definitely intense. The basic plotline is that zombies (which are humans infected with a virus that makes them go insane and violent and want to eat other humans’ flesh) are basically going around infecting everyone. You know how you sometimes see people go a little crazy when they are in drug rehabilitation and their bodies are going through withdrawal? This is ten times worse. The story is about the children of a couple who are trying to get out of the infected zone before the military kills them (the military is trying to stop the spread of the disease by methods of extermination). It is a gory movie. All in all, even though the plot is very thin (but aren’t most horror films?), it is a great movie. The ending sucked though. If you have seen this, let me know, because Bill and I disagree on the significance of the ending. Without stating too much and giving it away, I think they ended it the way they did, so they can have another sequel. However, I personally like my story to have an happily ever after ending whenever possible, and you really don’t know if that’s what happened here.

The Meltdown Podcasts

Suni from Bulletproof Soul has been doing some amazing podcasts that I have to tell you about. I am all for posting about what goes on in your life and Suni does this quite well. Not only does she write interesting posts, she has started doing podcasts about what is happening with her. She talks about everything: therapy, bipolar, borderline, depression, and much more. It takes a lot of guts to get so personal out in public. I personally think it is great. I hope other people can learn more about mental illness. Also, I hope that people going through the same things that Suni has/is can learn from her strength. Again, this is another great blog and podcast that you should check out.

CostCaptain

If you are a student (even homeschool students counts), do not be going to places like Best Buy for your software needs. There are places like www.CostCaptain.com that are able to give you way better deals on the software you need for school. They are a Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller, so the discounts they offer are going to be some of the best prices you will find anywhere. For example, you can get Microsoft Office 2007 for $129 and the Vista Upgrade for $89. How can you go wrong with these prices? Being a student is expensive and being able to save a couple of bucks on software can and will definitely help.
