Did you know . . . .
- There are over 1,000 different kinds of “smellers” in your nose?
- Test show a 40% improvement in mood when exposed to a pleasant scent.
- The average human being is able to recognize approximately 10,000 different odors.
- Your nose can smell directionally, telling you where an odor originates.
- A woman’s sense of smell is keener than a man’s.
- No two people smell the odor the same way.
With that being said, it isn’t all that surprising that you can get cards that actually smell. Scentsational Greeting has come up with a way to add scents to their cards, and let me tell you, they smell wonderful. I was amazed at how good they smell. Their signature scents include lavender, vanilla, ocean breeze, lemon, roses, and coffee. They even have a holiday line including peppermint, christmas tree, and gingerbread. All you have to do is gently rub the front of the card to release the awesome scents. They have card for just about every event too.
If you want to send a unique card that everyone will love, check out Scentsational Greeting. You’ll be the talk of your friends and family.

Do you travel a lot? In this last year, I have started traveling quite a bit. I learned that my black luggage my hide dirt and wear and tear well. However, I have also learned that everyone has black luggage, and it all looks exactly the same when it is coming off the baggage claim thing at the airport. I always thought I was being tricky by tying a neon colored ribbon on my luggage. However, a lot of people are doing that now, so that has quit working. I hate to pass along this great idea, since then you all will buy them and ruin it for me. However, Luggage Charms are such a great idea that I have to pass it on. Luggage Charms are super easy to use. Just tie them (triple knot) to anything that you don’t want to lose when you are flying such as your baggage, stroller, car seats, etc. These charms come with brightly colored ribbons and tags. On the front of the tag, you are able to get whatever design you want. On the back of the tag, you are able write or affix a label with all of your identifying information in case your luggage ends up separated from you (I hate when my luggage ends up on a better trip than me). They won’t look like anything anyone else has on their bag, so you don’t have to worry about anyone accidentally grabbing you luggage. You also won’t be standing at the baggage area trying to figure out if that’s really your suitcase or not! Even if you aren’t sitting at the airport, you can also use these to show who’s suitcase belongs to who. Since the ones I have each have different ribbon colors, it was easy to know whose suitcase was whose suitcase on your visit to Green Bay this weekend.
If you do any traveling at all, I highly recommend these luggage charms. They are priced right, are fashionable, and they make your life that much easier. Now, I know you want a set of your own (each set has 4 charms in it), so I have arranged to give away 5 SETS of these, and you’ll get to pick what initial you want on each charm! How awesome is that? Sometimes it is extremely weird when certain things happen in your life. We had that happen today. We found out at church today that Madison does not like to go up to the front. We literally had to drag her up there for the New Members greeting. I was just trying to wrack my brains and come up with a way to overcome that fear when I remembered that we just got a book called Genevieve’s Gift. This is an award winning children’s picture book for ages 4 – 8. It is about a little girl who is able to overcome her nervousness by “listening to her heart”. When she listens to her heart, she finds courage and inspiration. There is a step by step guide in the back of this book that I am hoping to use with Madison. We briefly talked about it today, but she was too busy wanting to read the next book. This story definitely flows, and Madison could easily follow it and pay attention to it. Madison also likes to sing, so we sang the song Genevieve did for her friend (there is also a music guide in the back of the book, so you even have the tune). I love that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book is donated to the National Down Syndrome Society. This is a great little book that has some great lessons in it. All kids should definitely read it.
