Glade Holiday Candles

candleThere are certain scents I associate with the holiday time. For example, if I smell pumpkin pie, I think Thanksgiving. If I smell pine needles, I think Christmas. Glade must know this, so they came out with some great holiday candles.  Some of the yummy (and I mean yummy flavors) Glade has this year include Bayberry Spice, Homemade Gingerbread, Hollyberry Wreath, Peppermint Crush, French Vanilla, and Apple Cinnamon.  There is nothing better than walking into your house and smelling gingerbread or cinnamon. It’s a great way to set the scene for some holiday parties and just enjoying the holiday overall.

Curious Chef

6pc_cookie_boxIf you have young kids like me, they often want to help in the kitchen. I know Madison, my 5 year old, always wants to help me bake.  Now that we are heading into Christmas time and prime baking time, the Curious Chef’s 6 piece cookie kit is perfect for your little ones to help you.  The utensils in this kit are real.  They aren’t toys.  However, they are made to be much easier for your kids’ hands to hold and to use.  Best of all, they are dishwasher safe!  With them having their own utensils, your kids have a sense of ownership over their supplies and even the goodies they make.

Mr. Twister™ Moo Mixer™

This has been cross posted on Lisa Cooking.

My kids LOVE this. I just can’t say LOVE enough. Capitalizing LOVE doesn’t even describe it. Basically, what the Moo Mixer is a push button mixer.  However, it’s easy enough for both my kids (2 and 5 to use).  They actually fight over who can do their milk first (I also have chocolate milk lovers in my house too).  This is how easy this is:

Add milk:

Add chocolate:

Hit button to stir:

It is that easy! Granted, a spoon is much cheaper, but nowhere near as fun.  We actually hide it from the kids when not in use, because otherwise, all they would do is play with it.  I would recommend the Mr. Twister Moo Mixer for any house who has little ones that like chocolate milk.

Play-Doh Spaghetti Factory

playdohIf your kids like Play-doh like mine do, the Play-Doh Spaghetti Factory will be a huge hit in your house too! Your kids can easily make noodles, linguine, spaghetti, and ravioli with this pasta maker.  With the 25 half molds, you can easily add shrimp, vegetables, and even meatballs to your pasta meal.   This is easily enough for my 2 year old to do!  You add play-doh to the pasta maker, attach the top, press the handles down, and you have noodles!  You can easily add your toppings now!  It even comes with a playmat and a spoon and fork (which you can also use to make more noodles!).

I love that Play-doh gives my kids the tools to use their imagination and leave it up to them on what they create.  This is great for pretend play for both my 2 year old and my 5 year old.  I highly recommend it!

Mr. Potato Head

potatoAnother blast from the past — Mr. Potato Head!  My kids are in love with Mr. Potato Head.  It’s one of the great toys that make you use your imagination yet it’s easy enough for my 2 year old to do.  It’s amazing what kids can do with only 13 pieces.  The other thing I love about Mr. Potato Head is that it is able to store all of its pieces inside itself.  This fall there are two new Mr. Potato Heads coming out:  The Fryer Fighter tater and Captain Potato Chips (okay, I’ll admit I’m giggling as I am typing that).  The Fryer Fighter has its own handy fire extinguisher while the Captain Potato Chips comes with a peg leg, eye patch, and hooked hand.

This is a great gift for children of all ages.  They will have fun for hours and will giggle at the creations that they make.
