Fandangling Review and Giveaway!

I have to apologize for the not so great picture of a great product that I can’t say enough about. (I tried taking it with the light on and it was way worse).  See those butterflies hanging off Madison’s fan?  Those are Fandanglings, and they are awesome!

The inventor of Fandangling says it best:

I invented Fandangling quite by accident. It all started with our daughter Lia. When she was born we were seeking ways to keep her happy and interested in her room. When I put the first Fandangling on the fan in her room, her eyes lit up and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now, my kids (2 and 6) have always been a fan of fans, so I knew this would be a big hit in my house. It took Bill (my husband) less than 5 minutes to put it up, and that was with help from the kids.  My two year old and six year old love to watch the butterflies go round and round and round.  This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that” products.  I can say that my kids would have loved this as babies too.  They both have always been in love with fans.  When Madison was a baby, we had a mobile we had to constant wind up.  Can I tell you how much of a pain that was?  Seriously.  The mobile we bought for Will costed twice as much as a Fandangling and used a ton of batteries.  I really wish this would have been around, because I would have bought several of these!  My only complaint is that I wish they had more boyish designs like cars, tools, trucks, etc.

Since this is such a great product, I knew I had to pass one of these along to my great readers!  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out the Fandangling site and tell me which Fandangling style you like best.

National Geographic Kids 2010 Almanac Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Debra P. Congrats!

I remember back in the day (and I may be dating myself here) when almanacs were boring. You used them for school projects (when you needed to) and never looked at it again.  All I have to say is that my kids have it way better!  I have to admit I was excited to check out the National Geographic Kids 2010 Almanac.  The cover alone makes you want to look inside and find interesting facts.  What surprised me most was that my husband sat in his chair and read the almanac for himself one night.  I knew my kids would love it, but my husband got drawn in too!

My two year old likes the pictures.  We’ve been able to take the book and work it into his speech and get him to say a few more words.  My 6 year old also enjoyed the pictures.  However, she liked the facts too.  Both my kids loved the section on dinosaurs and loved finding pictures of snakes to show my husband (who is NOT a fan of snakes at all.  I love that we all found this book great!  This book is just full of knowledge (which will come in handy for my next game of Trivia Pursuit!).  National Geographic Kids 2010 Almanac is definitely a book that’s hard to put down once you open it no matter what your age.

Since I loved this book so much, I’ve arranged for one lucky reader to also win a copy of the National Geographic Kids 2010 Almanac.  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out the National Geographic site and tell me what you hope to learn about if you win this book.  Did you want to learn that in Scotland residents open their front doors before midnight on New Year’s Eve to let the old year out and the new year in?  Or did you want to know that in the 1870’s a swarm of locusts migrated over the Great Plains that stretched 300 miles long and 100 miles wide?

Each of these gives you one additional entry:

The Charm Factory Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Robin H. Congrats!

Needing a gift for the person who has everything? The Charm Factory is definitely the place to go. As you can see, the bracelet above is what I designed for myself. I included mom charms, cooking charms, computer charms, and my kids birthstones (just to name a few)  The Charm Factory site definitely has something for everyone on there!  It was hard to decide which ones to use!  Each charm is made from .925 sterling silver and is nickel and lead free.  What surprised me the most was how lightweight my bracelet is.  I don’t even notice that it’s on my wrist.  I have noticed that I’ve had a lot of people ask me where I got my bracelet from;  it’s definitely an ice catcher!    I am also impressed, because this bracelet actually fits my wrist.  I have tiny wrists (my five year old and I can share bracelets), and I was able to make this small enough so that it doesn’t fall off my wrist.

One of these bracelets would make an excellent Christmas, Birthday, or even Mother’s Day gift.  Since I love mine so much, I want to give one of my lucky readers one too!  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out The Charm Factory site and tell me what your favorite charms are.

Each of these gives you one additional entry:

Bright Green Review and Giveaway

This contest is now over. The winners are Terra Heck and Marianna! Congrats!

If you are worried about all the chemical you use in your home, then the Bright Green line of products is right up your alley.  Bright Green household cleaners are biodegradable and don’t have any phosphates, chemicals, or residual toxins that you have to worry about.  I recently tested out two of their products, and we definitely like them.

00079893200057The first product that we tried was the All Purpose Cleaner.  Since it is dye free, it is a clear solution (which means you have to be careful where you leave it if you have little ones.  I swear Will thought it was water).  It is not tested on animals.  It is lemon scented.  However, when you use it, the scent doesn’t knock you over.  For me, I love the lemon scent, because you can smell that I actually did clean (see, stay at home moms don’t just sit and watch their soaps all day).

00079893200217The concentrated Dish Washing Liquid was also a hit in our house.  Even though it is has no petroleum solvents, it was still tough on grease.  There was no elbow grease that had to be applied to get clean dishes.  It did all the hard work.  This too has a great lavander scent, so you’ll actually find yourself relaxing a bit while you are doing dishing.

I also was able to try out their reusable tote bags.  The totebag itself is made of 65% recycled bottles (which equals about 4 plastic bottles!).  It is machine washable, and it sure beats using the plastic bags that you get here.  It’s the little things that we can do that really make a difference, and Bright Green allows us to make those little changes.  We all want to save the world, but we have to do it one step at a time.

I have arranged for two of my lucky readers to get one of these fabulous tote bags.  Here’s what you need to do:

Leave a comment on this post.  Check out the Bright Green site and tell me what product you’d like to try.

Yoplait Review and Giveaway

This contest is now over. The winners are Gianna, Ann, and Aubrey B. Congrats!

copy-of-yoplait-34Did you know research has shown that fewer than half of all kids ages two to 12 get the calcium they need each day? I know in my house it is definitely a struggle some days. An easy and great way is to give your little ones is Yoplait for Kids products (Go-Gurt, Trix, Yoplait Kids). My kids love the unique colors the yogurt comes in which is why I actually think they eat it. They also love the cartoon characters on them too. I can’t tell you how many times Madison has told me she wanted the Diego yogurt.

Yoplait also understands the importance of outdoor activity and wants to offer three of you the Yoplait Get Active Prize Pack. It includes a travel cooler (to take your yogurt on the road), a jump rope, a water bottle and an outdoor game set that includes a beach ball, paddle ball, Jai-Ali and a Frisbee.

Here’s what you need to do:

Leave a comment on this entry.  Tell me what type of activities you do as a family to stay healthy and active.
