What Color Is Your Brain Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Lance Pearson. Congrats!

color brainWhat Color Is Your Brain describes our personality types using four colors in a packed, fast, fun-filled book that is easy to read and understand.  We get to learn from Sheila Glazov’s stories and anecdotes from her workshops that were conducted for major corporations and organizations all over the world how to better understand our co-workers, bosses, children, spouses, and any others you spend time with.

The colors are based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (which is a well-known and well-used personality assessment that’s based on Dr Carl Jung’s four personality functions. I learned from this test that Bill and I are polar opposites.)  Sheila simplified this to make it easier for children and adults to remember.

The book begins with the test for you to take to start determining your brain color type. Each of the other eighteen chapters is full of charts and lists to illustrating concepts from romantic relationships to the best working environment.

What Color Is Your Brain helps you to understand why you act the way you do.  It also helps you understand the people that surround you and who doesn’t want to know that?  Here’s what you need to do get your very own copy:

Scatterpillar Scramble

catepillarA great game that will keep your kids giggling the entire time they are playing is Scatterpillar Scramble.  It’s for kids 4 and up (the marbles are small, so may sure you keep an eye on little ones when this game is being played).  The Scatterpiller plays music and dances as you try to put your color marbles on his hands.  The first player that is able to place their colored marbles all the way to the top row wins (8 total marbles).  It may sound super easy, but let me tell you it’s not!  That being said, Madison (my five year old) didn’t get too frustrated with this.  My kids actually though the dancing Scatterpillar was pretty funny (Will, my two year, was shaking his butt to the music).  If you are looking for a different game for your kids, Scatterpillar Scramble is definitely that!

Frecklebox

I have to start this review by stating how much I love this company. Frecklebox has some of the coolest products out there, and I will be ordering some more birthday and Mother’s Day gifts shortly.  I can’t say enough good things about them, but I will sure try.  :)

I absolutely love their personalized books. They are some of the best done books I’ve seen on the market. My kids loved seeing their name in print (well, Madison more since she’s five and can recognize her name).  Now, there are several choices for the personalized books, and you can see two of them up above.  Madison’s book is about all the different things that can spell her name like the  leaves in the street and the shells at the beach.  Will’s book is about all the jobs he could have when he grows up like being a doctor or a firefighter or even a teacher.  The detail in Will’s book is amazing, because they ask you for information like the city you live in and encorporated it into the book.  For the police office, they had a car on the page with Will’s name and the city we live in Police Department.  It’s a small detail that makes me love these books even more.  Now, you can get these in hardcover or softcover.

We also got personalized puzzles.  They are 20 pieces and definitely easy enough for Madison.  She actually took these, went into the kitchen, and did them all by herself.  The puzzles have great designs, and there are a ton more to pick from too!  It’s just another way to make your little ones feel special!

The last product we got was their personalized coloring books.  Madison loves to color, so this is a great gift for kids her age.  Everytime she saw her name, she said “awesome”.  It is cool that she recognizes that this is her own coloring book.  I can definitely see this coming in handy with multiple girls or boys in your house, since their name is right on the book.  She also loves to refered to as a princess, so that was an added bonus.

I seriously can only give good praises to Frecklebox.  They have a high quality product that my kids absolutely love.  They have tons of designs to choose from for all of their products, and I would be surprised if you cannot find something you like.  Their checkup process was simple and delivery was quick.  Like I said when I started, I will be ordering several more of these products, because they make such great gifts!

Countdown To Christmas: Crazy Mixed Up Martians

Want a crazy fun game for your house? Crazy Mixed Up Martians definitely fits that bill.  There are two boppers:  one green and one blue.  With one version of the game, you just bop your color martians when they pop up.  In another version you can play, you just try and hit as many as you can as they pop up.  Now, this game is just fun.  You’ll have a ton of giggles and screaming while playing.  It is for ages 4 and up, but again my eighteen month old has no problem playing it (Again, just need to be careful that he doesn’t put anything in his mouth).  We like this in our house, and you will too.

Polliwalks

As many of you know, we remodeled our basement this last summer, so we had some extra room in the house. We now have a huge play area for the kids. However, even though the basement itself is warm, the floor is freezing cold. We have been looking for sandals and/or slippers for Will that he wouldn’t easily be able to take off. We found the perfect match with the Polliwalks shoes. These shoes are not only cute, but extremely functional too. For the winter time, we got him the puppy dog shoes. They are super warm for him. I love that the bottoms are nonstick. We have hardwood floors upstairs which also get very cold in the winter. I can never put him in socks, because he either doesn’t leave the socks on or he slips and falls wherever he tries to go. With these shoes, he can’t easily get them off (though I can easily get them on), and he isn’t falling all over. He also is a huge puppy fan right now, so he loves them just because they are puppies.

Now, for the summer (or when we can’t find his puppy shoes), we got him the Fish Shoes. I love them. These shoes include the back straps that ensure that they stay on your little ones feet. It also makes it super easy to adjust for a custom fit for your kids’ feet. They are super easy to get on and my son has yet to try and take them off.  The fish lips change color when exposed to UV rays of the sun too!  How cool is that?  Right now, these are only in select Dillards stores and online at Zappos.com.  They will be available at all of their retailers in Jan/Feb.

Overall, I am impressed with the Polliwalks shoes that we got. They are made out of high quality material, and try as he might, my son has not figured out how to wreck them yet. They are cute and can definitely take a beating. These are shoes that will easily be passed down from kid to kid and still look great!  Now, since these are so great, I want to offer pair to one of my lucky readers!
