Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Jo! Congrats!

I love good cleaning supplies. I always have which is why I talk about a lot of good ones here that I like to use. One of my favorites lately has to be the Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner. I love having one cleaner that I can go around the house and clean everything with! With 2 little ones underfoot, I need all the help I can get. I also hate to use 12 different cleaners just to clean. Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner can be used on wood, glass, mirrors, granite, electronics, wood laminate, stainless steel, plastics, marble, and chrome. I think this covers pretty much every surface in your house.  It comes in two scents (lavender fresh and rainshower) which both smell great.  You can get it at pretty much any store too.

I used this to get ready for Will’s birthday tomorrow.  It made my house smell nice and made cleaning super easy.  I was able to dust, clean the windows, and the tv screen with one cleaner!  It made cleaning up for this party much easier.  I want cleaning in your house to be as easy as it is in mine.

Want a bottle of Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner to making cleaning easier for you too?  Here’s what you need to do:

CLR Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaner Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is over. Congrats to Kimberly and Janet F. I will be contacting your shortly!

I am quite use to living with hard water.  When I lived in Wisconsin and when we lived in Aurora, we had hard water.  Hard water is tough on a lot of things.  However, one of the places you can really see it is in your bathroom.  You will often find you have what looks like soap scum that you just can’t remove.  That is where CLR Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaner comes into play.  When we lived in Aurora, we used this cleaner every time we cleaned the tub.  It was the only thing that take the “scum” we had off.  I can only highly recommend it.  Now that we live in a suburb of Chicago, we don’t have that problem quite as much.  However, over the last couple of months, I have noticed that something is definitely going with our water.  When you get water out of the tap, it is very cloudy (not sure what is causing that).  I have also noticed that we are starting to get that “soap scum” again.  I decided to pull out our go to fix:  CLR Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaner.  Guess what?  It got rid of the mess in the tub yet again.  I love this product, and I can only give it high reviews.  Best of all, CLR has earned the EPA’s Designed for the Environment designation, so you know that it contains no phosphates, ammonia or bleach.

That being said,  I am giving away two Cleaning Bucket prize packs!  The Bucket will include CLR’s entire line of products and various tools to help you clean your house.  Here’s what you need to do:

1. Leave a comment on this post. Check out their products here and tell me which ones you need in your house.

Weiman Products: Perfect Planet Floor Cleaner and Floor Polish

One of the many things we need to do before we have family over for the holidays is clean.  Perfect Planet tries to make our lives with their new product called Squeeze and Clean Floor Cleaner.  It is as easy to use as the title implies.  You literally just need to squeeze the bottle onto your floor, mop with a damp mop, and let dry.  That’s it!  The best part is that this floor cleaner is ecofriendly.  It is made without using harsh petrochemicals, ammonia, VOC’s and phosphates.  You can use it on finished hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, laminate, ceramic tile, marble, grouted tile and non-porous hard surface flooring.

Perfect Planet’s Squeeze & Shine Floor Polish works in conjunction with the Floor Cleaner.  Using it can’t be easier.  Again, all you need to do squeeze it on your floor, spread with a damp mop, and wait 15 minutes for it to dry.  You will definitely notice a difference right after your first use. It will also make your floor more resistant to dirt, scuff marks, and scratches.  It contains no heavy metals, ammonia or formaldehyde.

If you read my post before this one, I have also reviewed some additional Weiman products you should also try out.  Now, I know that you would love to have some of these products in your home, so I have arranged a prize pack valued at $100 for one of my lucky readers.  In this prize pack, there will be:

  • Wright’s Silver Polish
  • Perfect Planet Floor Cleaner
  • Weiman E-Tronic Wipes
  • Weiman Leather Wipes
  • Weiman Cook Top Wipes (a personal favorite of mine!)
  • Wonder Mop
  • WonderFiber Cloth

PineSol

We had a very interesting episode at my house this morning.  Will had a little diaper accident that ended up all over my living room floor (and let’s say it wasn’t pee!).  Not only did it smell, it was stuck to the floor (I know, I know TMI, but I could have taken pictures!)

What does a mother do when incidents like this (and yes all mothers have at least one of these with each of their kids)?  Well, first you clean up the kid involved.  I also lucked out that it was Will’s nap time, so I was able to put him down and not have him getting in the way of cleanup.

Once Will was down for a nap, that’s when the real cleaning starts.  I have always loved pinesol.  It does say on the back not to use on wood.  However, I have always used it on my hardwood floors, because it is one of the best cleaners out there on the market and have yet to have a problem.  I have yet to find anything that matches its cleaning ability either.  However, I have always had one major complaint:  the smell.  I personally could not stand the lemony smell (Courtney just corrected me — it’s not lemony — it’s pine :P ).  However, PineSol has come to rescue.  They now have flavors (or is it called scents?)!  The one I used on our little accident this morning was the “Sparkling Wave”.  I love it!  Not only did the PineSol clean up the mess, it left my living room smelling awesome.  There was no overwhelming lemon — just a calming sea smell (which after the morning I’ve had, I definitely need).

I would definitely go try this out if you haven’t yet, and tell me what you think.

Dirty Jobs

The Discovery Channel has another great show that I have to tell you about. It is called Dirty Jobs. This show is great since the whole family can watch it. The premise is pretty easy — people write in with the “dirty job” they have. Mike Rowe, the host, goes to their job site and does their dirty job for a day. It is amazing, because there are so many jobs out there that you never knew that existed. He has done everything from being a skull cleaner to a sausage linker to a hot tar roofer in the middle of summer. He’s taken gum off the sidewalks, cleaned the gas tanks in planes, and cleaned the sewers in New York (at least, I think it was in New York). There was even a show with birds that puked on him.  They have never shown him get hurt (yet). However, we have seen some definite OSHA violations.  If you need to appreciate your job or want some great TV viewing, then tune in to Dirty Jobs.
