Spot Shot

Are you needing a really good spot remover for your house?  If so, you have to check out Spot Shot.  There are several reasons why I absolutely love this stuff.  First, it is non-toxic.  It safe for your children to be around (granted, they can’t be drinking it or anything).  As long as you use it as directed, it is safe for both kids and pets.  It is biodegradable and environmentally friendly also.  This product was not tested on animals.  It is safe for most carpets and rugs too (though it is not recommended for wool carpeting).  Spot Shot also is an instant carpet odor eliminator also.  It neutralizes odors and leaves a clean scent behind in its place.

Now, I could take a piece of carpet, dump some stuff on it (like chocolate and such) and show you how well this product works on that.  However, everybody does that.  Plus, most stains can be removed if you deal with them right away.  Instead, I decided to first try this product on my basement stairs.  This is white carpet.  This is also exactly how it looked when we moved in, so I have no idea at all what this stain actually is.  However, I do know that I have tried other cleaners on it to no avail.

Spot Shot is quite easy to use.  You spray the area and then blot or rub gently with a damp cloth.  Seriously, it does not get any easier than this!  For me, the results were amazing.  It took out the stains even better than I expected.  As you can see from the photo on the left, the stains are gone, and my basement smells nice too.  If you have any stubborn stains in your carpet, you have to try this stuff!

Highlights High Five

Often when we are in the doctor’s office, we see Highlights.  For many of your who are in my age range, we all pretty much remember Highlights.  It is one of the few magazines that is for children and is educational.  My only issue with Highlights is that it is for old kids, and I have younger ones.  When I found out that Highlights now makes High Five, I was estatic.  High Five is for preschool age children, and it is a huge hit in my house.  When Madison’s magazine comes, she literally will spend an hour flipping through it herself on the chair.  That is even before we sit down together to do some of the activities!  I love that it is right at her level.  You aren’t going to find a small business for sale or a crossword puzzle. Instead, there are stories and activities that you can do with with your children.  In my latest issue, we learned how to make bathtub crayons and chocolate covered bananas.

If you are needing a gift for a preschool age child or have on yourself, make sure you subscribe to High Five.  It is the only magazine I have seen on the market for that age group, and you know it is quality since it is made by Highlights!

happy baby colors

Happy baby colors is a book that gets a lot of use in our house.  Since it is made out of cardboard, both Will (my one year old) and Madison (my four year old) can enjoy it.  Each page of the book lists a color.  Everything on that page is that color and there is a baby dressed in that color.  For example, on the purple page, there is baby dressed in purple pajamas and there is purple on that page too.  Under brown, my husband was a little disappointed to not see home theater seating (though there was chocolate). I had to remind him that this was a little kid book.  This book is a great way to introduce new items to your kids that you may not have in your house.  Its a fun a way to have them learn and they enjoy the book.  Right now, Madison is on the couch across from me reading the book to me!
