Smart Snacks Trail Mix & Match Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is over. The winner is Sherri B. Congrats!

prod7317_thThe Smart Snacks Trail Mix & Match is another great toy in our house.  It is for ages 2-6 and works on skills such as tactile exploration and discrimination, matching, patterning, and their fine motor skills.  There is just so many ways to play with this!  I love that everything (when they are done) ends up back in the bag (I love self containing toys.  We tend to not lose the piece then).  Since this packs into itself, it actually makes a great car toy too!  Will likes to take the food and pretend to eat it (though we have had to remind him it’s pretend a few times).  Madison takes it and makes different patterns on the laces.  We can also practice her counting too.  Since there are two laces, they can each have their own and work on their own, and there is less fighting.  This is a 25 piece set that includes 4 pretzels, 4 raisins, 4 peanuts, 4 crackers, 4 chocolate chips and 5 candies with numbers 1-5 printed on 1 side, and 2 laces.  All of this can be cleaned with a damp cloth.  Since there are no batteries involved, it really makes your kids use their imagination.  I can’t tell you how many games we’ve made up with this.

Now, I know you want one of these for your house.  Here’s what you need to do:

Learning Resources: Pretend & Play Bakery Set Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is over. The winner is Judy Brittle. Congrats!

prod9056_thIf you’ve got kids like mine who want to help out in the kitchen, then the Pretend & Play Bakery Set is something you need to get for your house.  This 31 piece set has everything they could ever need.  The eggs crack open, cookies are in 4 shapes to cut out, the pie can be filled, and the bread can be cut.  There is even measuring cups and spoons!  The pieces are large and definitely make them feel as if they are part of your kitchen.  Madison has a play kitchen that this works well with.  We were able to fill the pie and put it into the play oven (though we made cookies and she stuck them in the  microwave).  I love that is a toy that doesn’t require batteries and makes my kids use their imagination.  I’ve been able to use this set to distract my kids while I am cooking — I have them make pretend food while I am cooking.  This is for 3 and up, but again, Will was able to play with most of this also.

Now, I know you want this for your house.  Here’s what you need to do:

Hallmark Valentine’s Day Cards Review and Giveaway

This contest is over. The winners are Shannon A, Janna Johnson, melissa, Kim Miller, Valerie M, Vicky Boackle, and Connie. Congrats!

Nobody does cards like Hallmark.  I know that for every special occasion that we get Hallmark cards.  Hallmark’s Valentine’s Day card collection this year does not disappoint.  They have a card for everyone you could want.  However, let me tell you about the ones that my family will be getting this year.  Hallmark now has recordable cards with music.  My kids are in seventh heaven.  They loved the music cards in the past, and this is more than amazing for them.  I also loved how easy it was for Madison to record a message.  We did 5 cards in less than 5 minutes.  Madison would record her message and then dance to the music.  She definitely had to check and make sure each card recorded at least five times and dance around my living room.  I definitely should have video taped it!  Now, Hallmark made a video and asked what would you say to your Valentine:

This video shows how easy it is to use the cards.  Now, wouldn’t you like to get one of these?  I know that my family will be completely surprised and love them (I know I did!).  It’s a great way to stay connected with your loved ones even if you are miles apart.

These cards are awesome, and I have arranged to giveaway 7 of these recordable cards with music!  Here’s what you need to do:

Leave a comment on this post.  I want to know what you would say to your Valentine if you won one of these cards.

Build a Bear – Wii Style

Have you ever went to the Build A Bear Workshop?  If so, you will know that it is one of the coolest places around if you have kids.  It is seriously like watching magic happen as you watch your bear being made.  It is awesome that you can personalize it and everything.  However, when we moved from Aurora back to Chicago, I didn’t realize that we were going to be leaving our beloved Build A Bear Workshop.  I have no idea where one is now. That being said, there are a couple of ways for me to get my Build A Bear fix.

First, there is a celebrity auction going on right now! They will be auctioning off celebrity-built Build-A-Bear Workshop bears along with autographed copies of the Build-A-Bear Wii game. These bears and signed games will be on eBay’s Giving Works to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. The bears were built by celebrities like Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott, the Jonas Brothers, James Gandolfini, Melissa Joan Hart, Bonnie Hunt, Mitchel Musso, Meaghan Jette Martin and more.  This would definitely be a talking point for your house!

If that isn’t enough, Wii has come to the rescue for those of use who don’t like by a Build A Bear workshop!  They now have a game called Build-A-Bear Workshop® A Friend Fur All Seasons.  Up to four players can play and you can name, feed, and dress your bear.  You can even go on adventures with them!  This game is rated E for Everyone, so you can enjoy it no matter what age you are!  You can buy this game at places like Walmart, Target, and really any game retailers.  However, I have a great giveaway for you!  How would you like your own Build A Bear game?  Here’s what you need to do:

1. Leave a comment on this post.  Tell me what feature you think you’d like best about the Build-A-Bear Workshop® A Friend Fur All Seasons game.
2. Twitter about this contest. Please leave me your username so I can verify.
