Entrecard

Entrecard is one of the new ways to drive traffic to your sites. I have been using them for several months and have been happy with what I have seen so far. The best part of Entrecard is that is free. All you need to do a put a widget on your site so people can drop their cards on you. You’ll see one on the sidebar on this blog. That’s all you have to do. To effectively use the system though, you want to be dropping your cards on other blogs. You will be amazed at the number of quality blogs you’ve never seen before that is in their system. Entrecard drives approximately 50-100 more visitors daily to each of my blogs that I have it on. I can’t complain out those stats. Actually, it makes me want to send the creators of this some wine gifts. The only complaint that I have is that each blog has to associated with its own email account. If you are needing some extra traffic to your blog, this is worth trying out!

Investor Blogger

When I first came across InvestorBlogger, I thought it would be a website about investing.  I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t.  He has a little of everything (I love those kind of blogs).  He does reviews on others blogs as well as stock market information.  He even has a post about a trip that he took with his wife.  I enjoy the writing style, and it is an easy read.  The only thing I would change is that I think his header is too big.  I also found that it was somewhat hard to navigate the site.  If the header picture was also clickable I think that would help visitors get back to the home page.  Overall, it is a great read and would suggest you to go check it out.

Alive Blog Directory

Blog directories are a great way to get both traffic and increase your pagerank. Alive Blog Directory is a directory that you definitely should get your site into. It is built on the main Alive Directory resource.

Submitting a link is super easy. There are a ton of categories to choose from such as games, pets, relationships, society, etc for you to categorize your site. There is a category for everyone there. You are also able to list your site either yearly or permanently. You do not very often see a permanent listing, so it was a nice surprise to come across that. The directory also allows you to see which listings were most recently added and which ones are getting the most hits from the directory. Both are extremely interesting to look at.

On the nuts and bolts side of things, this site is very easy to navigate. As I stated before, you can very easy submit your site. The colors chosen are extremely pleasing to your eyes, and it is very easy to read. This site is just as easy for someone submitting a link as it is for someone looking for blogs to check out. Overall, you should definitely check this directory out for exposure for your blog.

Smorty

I am all for blog advertising. Smorty is a service that allows you to either blog for money or advertise on blogs. As a blogger, your sponsored posts need to be 150 words, and you have 72 hours to write your post after accepting it. You are paid on a weekly basis for the approved posts you have done. The site is pretty easy to navigate. They have opportunities on all sorts of products to write about.

This is a company I use on my other blog. I have always gotten paid on time (I know this is the number one question for paid to blog sites). The assignments are pretty straightforward. I have yet to have to contact them. However, I have heard from others that they are polite and helpful. My only complaint is that there is not a lot of work from them. However, it still is worth trying out!

About Me

Hi, I am Lisa. I am originally from Green Bay, WI (yes, I am a Packer fan) and now living in Illinois. I have 4 year old daughter and a newborn little boy who surprised us by being born 3 weeks early. (He’s 16 months now!)

Currently, I am a work at home mom who is involved in several side projects. In 2004 and 2005, I worked for a company creating websites. Unfortunately, that went away. However, we introduced our clients to blogging which is how I got into it. I started blogging in April 2006 just to keep in touch with my friends and family in Green Bay. In July 2006, I suffered a miscarriage, and I used my blog to get through that. I now talk about my life and blog for several companies. I still do freelance for a few companies. My other blogs are My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings, Lisa Cooking, and My Road Less Traveled By. I was also one of 15 bloggers to attend the Sony Mommy Bloggers Event in April of 2008 and one of 15 bloggers invited to the Pampers Mommy Bloggers Event.  I also recently went to the Epson/Sparkplugging Girls Night Out.

If you’d like more information about me, how to blog, or how to advertise on any of my blogs, please click here:

Welcome and enjoy!

My original blog My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings seems to have gotten away from my original purpose, so I decided to start a second blog that is solely dedicated to reviews.  I plan on reviewing a little bit of everything from blogs, to products, to services, etc.  I hope that you find my thoughts helpful and thanks for joining me on this journey.
