Organic Baby Calming Bubble Wash Review and Giveaway!

bubbleIf you’ve read this blog for any amount of time, you know that I am allergic to life itself. I’ve posted about my various allergies to everything many times, so I am always on the lookout for products that won’t give me (or my kids) hives.  Organic Baby’s Calming Bubble Bath does the trick for me.

The Calming Bubble Bath has both aloe vera and shea butter to help keep your skin from getting too dry.  It’s also tearless, so no more tears if they somehow get this in their eyes (and somehow they kids always end up with getting things in their eyes in the tub).  The lavender and sweet orange should also calm your kids down (it never seems to work with mine though – lol).  I love what this bubble bath does not have — no sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, no parabens, no DEA, no TEA, and no MEA, no petroleum/mineral oils/phthalates, no artificial colors, no artificial fragrances, and no nut oils, no gluten, no soy, and no dairy.  It is also certified organic too!

I’ve arranged for one of my lucky readers to try out this Calming Bubble Bath.  Here’s what you need to do:

Evenflo Smart Steps

CupsEvenflo has created a new line of toddler feeding products. These products are designed to help toddlers learn portions, exploring their food, and serving themselves. We recently tried out several of these products.

The insulated cup is pretty nice. There’s nothing worse than having a sippy cup with multiple parts. I say that because I have a ton of sippy cups in my cupboard with no valves because we lost them. That is the most awesome thing with this cup — the value is incorporated into the spout. This cup also comes with a sleeve that helps keep their drinks cool (or hot) longer, and the sleeve is machine washable. The sleeve also comes with handles. There is also a spout cover for travel. It’s also BPA free.

We also tried the Discovery Spoon. It is designed to help children feed themselves and also be gentle on their gums. It also has an easy grip handle and is also BPA free.

Lastly, we tried the snack stackers. These bowls are great for snack or even meals. I loved that the lids for these bowls double as a base for the bowls too! You are able to easily stack these together for storage. It also is easy to control portions with these. I like to use them for cereal for Will. The covers make it easy to keep his cereal fresh, and he can eat it later. This too is BPA free.

From my experience with the new Smart Steps products, I have to say that I like them. I like that everything is BPA free. These are products you will use in your home if you have toddlers, and we enjoyed them all!  If you are interested, here is a coupon you can use to get yourself some of these products!

Scrunch Bottle Bibs

FrontStoreWith having a new baby in the family (my sister, not me), I am finding all the cool new baby products out there. I often find myself questioning why some of these products weren’t out when my kids were little (and my kids are 5 and 2!). It is amazing all of the new things that come out. It’s also amazing to see what other women come up with to help us moms out.

The Scrunch Bottle Bib was not designed by a mom — instead, it was designed by a caring aunt who couldn’t figure out why there wasn’t a product out there to keep your baby’s neck dry while they feed.  Anyone who has bottle fed a baby remembers how much the baby seems to get in them equals the same amount they get all over them.  It also seems like the milk (formula, juice, etc) gets stuck in their neck folds which then either smells or gives the baby a nasty rash.

The Scrunch Bottle Bibs are reversible, 100% cotton, and best of all, machine washable.  I seriously can’t believe that no one has come up with this baby bibs idea before!  This is such a brilliant idea.  This definitely makes a new moms life easier and makes for a happier baby!

Bond With Your Baby Before Birth Review and Giveaway

This contest is now over. The winners are Kelly F and One Frugal Girl. Congrats!

cover-oneillI have to admit right off the bat that this is not like any other book you have read.  You also have to buy into reincarnation and psychic ability to get anything out of it (and to be honest, I am not sure how I feel about it all).  Now, with that being said, when you were pregnant, did you just know things about your baby?  How many women do you know were positive that they were having a boy or a girl?  We all know someone who just knew things about their unborn child.  Bond With Your Baby Before Birth explains how and why that happens.  It’s a great book for a new mom, because they will learn how to become more aware of their baby’s presence and connect with their child as early as conception!

I’ll be honest, I was a little sceptic of this until I read about miscarriages.  Having suffered one myself, I was told that it wasn’t time for the baby to be born, and when the soul was ready, we would get pregnant again.  I’ll be honest — I often wonder if Will is the baby I lost.  This book talks about this.  According to the book, during pregnancy, a soul can change its mind about being born and a miscarriage ensues.  The unborn baby’s decision is unrelated to what the birth mother does.  That same soul will be born to the mother it originally chose at a later date.  This helped me get through my miscarriage and I do believe it to be true.

This is definitely a book you have to read with an open mind.  It also teaches you to trust yourself, trust your gut, and that there truly are miracles every single day.

Since I have many pregnant readers, I have gotten 2 of these wonderful books to give away.  Here’s what you need to do:

Baby Happy Baby Sad

baby-happy-baby-sadA book that Will loves in our house is Baby Happy Baby Sad.  This is one book in a series about a diaper clad baby giving us his take on life.  This book is about two emotions little ones certainly understand:  happy and sad.  This board book is great, because Will can’t rip the pages.  It also is short enough that it hold his attention span.  The illustrations are great.  Even though Madison can’t read yet, she has definitely picked up what this book is about.  The pictures make it so she can read it to Will.  The other reason we love this book is that Will’s new word is “baby”.  He loves to turn the pages and repeat over and over again “baby” and giggle.

If you are looking for a great book for little kids, Baby Happy Baby Sad definitely gets two thumbs up here.
