Johnson’s 50 Years Strong!

There aren’t many products out there that I my mother used on me, and I now use on my kids.  However, Johnson’s is one of those brands.  Can you believe that they have been around fifty years!!!!  Now, you know you have a good quality product if it can stand the test of time like that.

I personally love Johnson’s products.  I love their “no more tears” tagline, because well, its true.  I know when I use a Johnson’s product it is gentle on both my childrens’ skin and my skin too.  That is important since I tend to be allergic to everything and my skin doesn’t react to Johnson’s products.  I am always excited to see them come out with new products.

bubble-bath-and-wash1htt-foaming-wash1Two of their newest products are the Head to Toe Foaming Wash and Bubble Bath and Wash. They both clean well, and my kids love them. I love that I don’t have to worry about them irritating my childrens’ skin or eyes. It is soap-free, dye-free, hypoallergenic and allergy tested Dermatologist and pediatrician tested. What more can you ask of a product?

Congrats Johnson’s for 50 years of great products and hopefully you’ll have 50 more!  If you’d like more infomation, check out their You Tube Channel.  Also, thank you Mom Central and Johnson’s for providing samples of these great new products to try!

Protect-A-Bed’s Allergy Relief Products Review and Giveaway

This contest is now closed. The winner is Helena Batt-Vesey. Congrats!

allerzip-matress-ccDid you know that it has been estimated that two million dust mites can thrive in an unprotected mattress? Gross, I know. Prevention Magazine has recently named bedding encasements as one of the ways to allergy-proof your home and encourages providing a barrier between you and any allergens that may be housed inside your bed.

I knew I had to try this. As I have stated many times, I am allergic to life itself. I’ve done allergy tests, and I was allergic to every single thing they tested me for. Needless to say, I can be miserable year round.
We had the matress pad and the pillow protector. I noticed a change the first night. I didn’t wake up in the morning coughing like I normally do all winter. I love that these protectors are cloth instead of plastic. The last protector we had on our bed was plastic, and it always made noise and wasn’t as comfortable. When we moved, it got torn, so we haven’t had one since. However, my most favorite feature has to be that it is waterproof! When you have kids, this is very important. Madison may be potty trained, but she still brings her sippy cup into our bed. The waterproofing will be especially nice when we potty train Will, because we will have no worries. I love my protectors. The real test will be in the summer with the pollen, but I am impressed with what it has done with just the dust alone.

Since I know I have readers who have allergies like me, I have arranged a giveaway. The winner will have their choice of an AllerZip Mattress Protector (for individuals with extreme allergies), a Premium Mattress Protector or, if they prefer, a Crib Mattress Protector (readers may want to visit PAB’s site to see which would be best for their allergy situation). Additionally they will also receive a Premium Pillow Protector. If this sounds like something you need in your house (like I did), here’s what to do:

Countdown To Christmas: Ethel Gloves

I personally have a lot of outdoor plants. I was actually outside cutting down a lot of my dead plants today. Since I am allergic to life itself, (Yes, you may laugh at that statement. However, I was allergy tested, and I was allergic to every single thing they tested me for,) I always wear gloves when doing any sort of yard work. I love my Ethel Gloves. First, I have super small hands. I never can find gloves that are 4 sizes too big.  However, these gloves fit like a charm (they also come in several sizes, so if you have bigger hands, they will fit you too).  Second, I love the feel of them.  The inside of these are super soft, so they actually feel nice to wear.  They also have elastic around the wrists.  For me, that is heaven sent, because when I am pulling weeds and dead plants out, I always get dirt into my gloves (which negates the use of the gloves most of the time).  With Ethel Gloves, I did not have that problem.  What is the thing I love most about these?  They are machine washable!

This definitely makes an awesome gift to the woman in your life if she does any sort of gardening outside.  We are always looking for fashionable gloves that fit well and do the job we need them to.  Ethel Gloves fits all of the above, so she’ll love them!

Clorox Anywhere® Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray

Are you like me?  Are you allergic to life itself?  You may laugh at this statement, but I have had allergy testing done.  I was allergic to every single thing I was tested for.  This is why I say I am allergic to life itself.  My only chance at a normal life was to get allergy shots.  However, they were not sure if that would actually get rid of all of my allergies.  I was not about to get three years of shots of something that they were not sure was going to work.  I pretty much ended up where I started.  I take it day by day, and if it is really bad, I take Claritin.

Clorox Anywhere® Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray is a lifesaver for people like me.  It is one of the easiest ways to reduce your common indoor allergens.  The biggest indoor allergens are a cat dander, dog dander, and dust mites.  They make up to 90% of the allergens in your home.  They can easily build up in soft surfaces such as cushions, upholstered fabrics, curtains, carpets, bedding, and stuffed animals.  Clorox Anywhere® Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray is super easy to use to get rid of this.  All you have to do is spray the items that you suspect are harboring allergens.  It chemically breaks apart the allergens, and does not leave behind a harmful residue.

I personally liked that it did not leave a scent either.  I have a husband who is super sensitive to scents and perfumes, so this is extremely helpful in my house.  it is also gentle and enough to use around kids and pets.  This will retail for approximately $2.99 and can be located in the home care aisle of most stores.  For me, $2.99 is well worth allergy relief.  Even if you aren’t allergic, do you really want all that floating around your home?

Verminators

Do you like the creepy crawlies? I don’t, so really don’t know why I watch the Verminators on the Discovery Channel. However, even though I cringe the entire time I am watching this, I am addicted. Basically, the people from Isotech go around and take care of pests for people. You would cringe too if you could see some of the houses they go into. The worst had to be the one that had roaches running in the crib. Some of these are so bad that I don’t think an air purifier would save them. Another interesting episode involves them moving a stove, and you can see about an inch and half of cockroaches. I am getting the creepy crawlier just thinking about it. Even though it grosses me out, I love this show, and you should go check it out!
