Triaminic Review and Giveaway!

This giveaway is now over. The winners are Molly K and Lily Kwan. Congrats!

In the last three weeks, everybody (including me) in my house has either gotten the flu or a cold.  I could have definitely used Triaminic’s new online resource called: The Cold & Flu-Tracker.  With this tracker, you can see how sick everybody in your area is.  Since we live in Chicago, our levels here are very high.  It is not all that surprising that we have been sick.  With having school age children, you never know whether or not to send them to school (at least I have this problem).  They have a great list of Sick Day Guidelines to help determine if your child should stay home from school.

With all that being said, something we find that helps in our house is the Children’s Triaminic Thin Strips.  Since Madison is in school, she needs a good night’s rest. If she’s coughing all night, that’s not happening. We’ve tried the Night Time Cold & Cough strips here, and they work to relieve her symptoms at night. I love that the strips just dissolve on her tongue.  She’s at the age now that she doesn’t like taking liquid medication, and she can’t swallow pills.  I don’t even like swallowing pills, and I’ve used these.  It takes a minute or so for the strip to dissolve, and it tastes good.

I’ve got 2 boxes of Triaminic Thin Strips to give away to 2 lucky readers.  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out the Triaminic site and tell me something you’ve learned.

Five For Fighting Review and Giveaway

This is now over. The winner is Christin. Congrats!

sliceMy husband and I are huge fans of Five For Fighting.  I think our favorite song (its an old one of theirs) has to be Superman.  The close second has to be What Kind Of World Do You Want.  I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on their newest CD (Slice) and take a listen.  If you are a Five For Fighting fan, this CD will not disappoint.  What I love most about Five For Fighting is that they sing from the heart.  They sing about “everyman”, and this is CD is no different.  If I could describe it in two words, I’d have to say mellow and bittersweet.  Slices will remind you of Superman.  I love how he draws in from real life and works it into his songs (there’s even a song on here where he mentions his blog!) Here’s a sneak peak at one of the songs:

The songs on this album include:

1. Slice
2. Note To The Unknown Soldier
3. Tuesday
4. Chances
5. This Dance
6. Above The Timberline
7. Transfer
8. Hope
9. Story Of Your Life
10. Love Can’t Change The Weather
11. Augie Nieto

This is a CD that should be everyone’s stocking this Christmas. To make that happen, I’ve arranged for one lucky winner to win an autographed copy of this CD!  Here’s what you need to do:

To enter, tell me your favorite Five For Fighting Song!

Each of these gives you one additional entry:

InfantNutritionCenter

A new website has recently been launched to help us learn about infant nutrition and development. InfantNutritionCenter.com takes us on a unique and powerful visual journey through infant nutrition and development. You will learn how proper nutrition shapes development and how individual nutrients affect the senses, bone formation, and the immune system of infants. As a mom of two, I learned a thing or two that I didn’t even know before! Through the site, you can explore and learn the latest research findings through video, pictures, and graphics, in depth questions like why infant eyesight depends on getting enough DHA and what key nutrients contribute to the healthy growth of your child’s brain.

This is definitely a mom resource, but I think anybody interested in human development (especially babies) would find this site helpful. The information on here is taken from the leading health centers and researchers across the country.  This site is a great way to learn about nutrition for both you and your baby.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Mead Johnson. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Bee MD’s Organic Honey Throat Drops

This giveaway is now over. The winners are Lisa and Donna K! Congrats!

image0032How many of you have summertime colds? My whole house has been sick over the last month (plus I have killer allergies).  My husband used two bags of the Bee MD’s Organic Honey Throat Drops in the last month.  I was able to snarf a couple, so I could write this review for you. How many times have you been told to drink a honey and lemon drink when you have a sore throat (I know I have)?  Well, you can’t always bring that with you in your car, to work, shopping, etc.  Bee M.D. solves that for you with their two flavors of Natural Honey and Honey Lemon.  These definitely help with your sore throat and don’t taste like you are sucking on medicine.  My kids didn’t get to try these but mom and dad certainly like them. Now, if you’d like to try these awesome throat drops at your house, here’s what you need to do (2 winners):

Leave a comment on this post. Head over to the Bee MD’s website and tell me something you’ve learned.

Each of these gives you one additional entry:

Virtual Baby Shower: SoftBaby Review and Giveaway

This contest has ended. The winner is Valerie M! Congrats!

new_softbaby_picWould you want to eat the moisturizer that you use every day? Check out the ingredient lists of your favorite moisturizer and let me know what you think. I am guessing no.  The scary thing is that if you have your children (like my 20 month old who still likes to put everything into his mouth including my fingers), you are doing exactly that.  If you are using a moisturizer on your children and they turn around and suck their fingers, they’ve done it too!  How would you like a moisturizer that is all natural, fragrence free, and if you really want, can be eaten too?

SoftBaby is the answer for you then.  It contains:

NO fragrance
NO preservatives
NO essential oils
NO nut oils
NO soy oil
NO wheat oil
NO botanicals
NO aloe vera
NO alcohols
NO petroleum by-products

It contains ONLY edible plant oils and their antioxidant complex of natural vitamins C and E.  Now, baby’s skin absorbs pretty much everything you do put on them, so you can easily get some unwanted side effects with some of the products out there.  Not only is this great for baby and mom, I found it great for a person who has a lot of allergies.  I personally need to watch what I use or I break out in hives.  Since this lotion is about as natural as you can get, I found it was great for my skin!  I also loved it, because it didn’t make my skin feel greasy either.  Another added benefit for new nursing moms is that you can safely use this on your sore nipples.  This is also great for a family like mine who have have fragrance issues.  I can use this and my husband can still breath!  (Yes, we are the household of the allergy prone).

Granted, I am including this as part of my baby shower guide, but I can highly recommend this to everyone to use.  Their guarantee is excellent too, so you have nothing to lose by giving them a try.  All you need to do is try the 2 oz. size (which lasts 3 – 6 months).  If you’re not satisfied with the results, they will refund you 100%, including shipping costs both ways.  Now, how many companies out there have that good of a guarantee?  None, that I can think of.

Since I know you all want to try this, I have 2 bottles of SoftBaby to giveaway!  Here’s what you need to do:

Leave a comment on this entry.  Check out the Softress site and tell me something about their products or them.

Each of these gives you one additional entry:

1. Twitter about this contest. Please leave me your username so I can verify. Or use something like this:
