Lands End Swimsuits Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is over. The winner is thegamblinggirl. Congrats!

010Now that we are hitting the hundreds in Chicago, it is time to get our swimsuits. If you are like me, it is a scary time. I normally hate shopping for swimsuits. I bought my last swimsuit before Madison was born (and she’ll be 6 in January).  It’s a two piece and I hate it.  However, Lands End made it easy for me this year. It wasn’t a horrible experience, and I can say I will order from Lands End again.

This is the first time I have not tried on a suit before I got it. I used Lands End sizing guide, measured myself, and I ordered it.  I am amazed how it fits!  LandsEnd wants to make sure women of all body types feel fabulous in their swimsuits, and they definitely did that!  My new suit (see picture above — Madison took it for me, so I’m sorry she didn’t get more of it in it) makes me look better.  I am not thin (as you can see :) ), and the suit definitely compliments me.  The suit fits well and actually does make me feel better about myself.  If you have problem areas, you definitely need to watch this video:

If you check out their channel on YouTube, you can really figure out what suit you should be looking at for your problem areas.  I know we all think we have problem areas, so these are truly helpful.

Now, I want all of you to be happy with your swimsuit this summer, so I have arranged for one of my lucky readers to get a $100 gift card to Lands End so you can be happy with your swimsuit this summer too!  Here’s what you need to do:

Shoes, shoes, everywhere

Ok, I have to admit it — I do like my shoes and am always on the lookout for new pairs at a great price.  It does not matter to me whether they are a pair of steve madden flats or a Birkenstock Sandals. However, I love finding sites that carry almost every type of shoe you could want. A site that definitely carries any shoe you could ever want is Jildor.

Jildor has been in business since 1949, and they definitely know shoes.  I love that they even carry shoes that fit my small feet (which seems to be an issue with a lot of online shoes stores.  Heaven forbid, if you have tiny feet, because finding shoes is like pulling teeth).  I love that they have live chat too!  Nothing is worse when you can’t figure something out, and you have to wait 24 – 48 hours before someones gets back to you.  The search on their site could not be any easier too!  You can search by keywords, designer, or even your size (which again is great for small footed people like myself.  I hate falling in love with a pair of shoes to later realize they don’t come in my size!). You can even set up product alerts, so you’ll be the first to know when they add a new shoes to the site!  They even have a great return policy:  if you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it.

If you are in the market for a great pair of shoes, definitely go check out Jildor Shoes.  I would definitely be surprised if you can’t find what you are looking for there!  Off to go shopping;  my birthday is next Friday and momma needs a new pair of shoes.

Virtual Baby Shower: BuddhiWear Organic Clothing

yoga-babyIf you are looking for all organic clothing, then I have the place you need to start shopping  Buddiwear Organic Clothing carries apparel for the entire family and focuses on buying local, supporting small business, and being green.  They use environmentally friendly dyes on all their items, and all of their shirts have a positive flare to them.  The owner of the company is a yoga teacher and a reiki master in addition to being  full time mom to two children Julia 6 and Ethan 3.  Her daughter has eczema, and she was always in search of soft garments that would not irritate her skin.  She wanted to be a part of an eco-conscious company, and she couldn’t find and coordinating mother and child/family garments that were organic, affordable, and put forth positive ideals.  Since she could not find what she was looking for, that is how BuddhiWear came to be.

Are these good quality shirts?  Yes!  I have the yoga baby shirt, and it is one of the softest shirts we have!  The thing that impresses me the most is that with most white shirts, when you stick your hand underneath, you can usually still see it to some degree.  Not with these shirts!  I also love that my shirt doesn’t have any weird laundry needs either since there is something on the front.  All you need to do is make sure you turn it inside out, and it can be washed with the rest of your laundry.  Now, if yoga isn’t your thing, they have a ton of other designs to pick from!  They have girl designs, boy designs, and designs that can really be worn by either sex.  I love that, because you really don’t see that very often (and when you have 2 kids and ones a boy and the other a girl, you need as many clothes that you can hand down to the younger ones as you can).  Shipping takes around 3 – 5 days, so they do have a pretty quick turn around.

If you are in the market for some great quality organic shirts, quit looking and head over to BuddhiWear.  You won’t be disappointed.  Best of all though, for every shirt they sell, they plant a tree!!!

Countdown To Valentine’s Day: Yandy

I have to admit that I love the name of this site.  For me, it is easy to remember, since it rhymes with candy. Now, if you are in the market for some Valentine’s Day Lingerie this is your one stop shop. They seriously have something for everyone here. They have Lingerie for all seasons and even for plus size (which no one usually does). They have a great selection to choose from also. Now, if lingerie is not your cup of tea, there are still a ton of things there you can get your loved one. I spent quite a bit of time in the shoe section. You can also get pajamas, robes, wigs, and even handbags. I even ordered myself a robe and a spa gift set (since I know my husband will forget to even get me a card!). Ordering was super easy. Yandy is your one stop shop for Valentine’s Day this year!

Polliwalks

As many of you know, we remodeled our basement this last summer, so we had some extra room in the house. We now have a huge play area for the kids. However, even though the basement itself is warm, the floor is freezing cold. We have been looking for sandals and/or slippers for Will that he wouldn’t easily be able to take off. We found the perfect match with the Polliwalks shoes. These shoes are not only cute, but extremely functional too. For the winter time, we got him the puppy dog shoes. They are super warm for him. I love that the bottoms are nonstick. We have hardwood floors upstairs which also get very cold in the winter. I can never put him in socks, because he either doesn’t leave the socks on or he slips and falls wherever he tries to go. With these shoes, he can’t easily get them off (though I can easily get them on), and he isn’t falling all over. He also is a huge puppy fan right now, so he loves them just because they are puppies.

Now, for the summer (or when we can’t find his puppy shoes), we got him the Fish Shoes. I love them. These shoes include the back straps that ensure that they stay on your little ones feet. It also makes it super easy to adjust for a custom fit for your kids’ feet. They are super easy to get on and my son has yet to try and take them off.  The fish lips change color when exposed to UV rays of the sun too!  How cool is that?  Right now, these are only in select Dillards stores and online at Zappos.com.  They will be available at all of their retailers in Jan/Feb.

Overall, I am impressed with the Polliwalks shoes that we got. They are made out of high quality material, and try as he might, my son has not figured out how to wreck them yet. They are cute and can definitely take a beating. These are shoes that will easily be passed down from kid to kid and still look great!  Now, since these are so great, I want to offer pair to one of my lucky readers!
