Mirra Review and Giveaway

Who doesn’t want to look their best? I don’t know any women who don’t, and that’s how mirra was born. Mirra has natural ingredients such as olive oil, aloe leaf juice, and cranberry. The best part is that they also use scientific technologies to make sure that their products are some of the best on the market. For example, they use oleosome emulsion technology to deliver long lasting moisture that keeps protecting and nourishing your skin long after you put it on (which is something I personally need because I have consistently dry skin).

I was given a basket of products to try at my house.  My favorite products have to be the shampoo and conditioner though.  Coming out of the bottle, it does smell a little perfumey.  However, once you wash your hair with it, you aren’t smelling it the rest of the day (which is something that my husband likes.  He doesn’t want his hair to smell like anything especially if it’s sweet smelling).  The conditioner makes my hair nice and soft, so I do like that too.  The body lotion was non greasy and the day cream was awesome.

Since I like these products, I have arranged for one lucky winner of mine to win some of these beauty products also!  Here’s what you need to do:

Tell me what beauty product you need!  Is it your moisturizer?  Your hair gel?  Your special lotion?  Or is it something else?

Planet 51 Giveaway

Even wonder what life is like on other planets?  Planet 51 answers that question for us!  American astronaut Chuck Baker (Dwayne Johnson) lands on a planet that is suppose to be lifeless.  Instead, Planet 51 is home to aliens (which oddly enough looks like 1950s America).  To make matters worse, the aliens think he is an alien and that there is going to be invasion.  Lem (Justin Long) is the only one who believes Chuck comes in peace and helps him get back to his ship.

Since I know my readers love a great kids movie, I have arranged to give away one copy of Planet 51.  Here’s what you need to leave a comment telling me:

What is your favorite kids movie and why?

Maybe I’ll Sleep in the Bathtub Tonight and Other Funny Bedtime Poems

When you say the title of this book (Maybe I’ll Sleep in the Bathtub Tonight and Other Funny Bedtime Poems) to Madison, she giggles. The title of the book alone makes kids want to read this book (which is definitely a good thing!).  Maybe I’ll Sleep in the Bathtub Tonight and Other Funny Bedtime Poems is a book of poems about going to bed.  If you have a struggle at bedtime, this is a book you should pull out.  A family favorite here is “More Night Clothes” – a silly poem about sleepwalking.  This book is also illustrated wonderfully and pull the kids into the book.  Each page has one or two poems on it, so it is really full.  I do have to admit this is for an older child (I’d say 6 and up).  My two year old wasn’t all that interested while Madison found a lot of the poems really funny.

If bedtime is a chore in your house, Maybe Ill Sleep in the Bathtub Tonight and Other Funny Bedtime Poems is a book you need to get.

Potty Animals: What To Know When You’ve Gotta Go!

We like potty books at our house.  With trying to potty train Will, we definitely will take any help we can get.  The great thing about Potty Animals:  What To Know When You’ve Gotta Go! is that even potty trained kids get a kick out of this book.  The pictures are very bright and pull you into the story.  This story is all about going to the bathroom.  We learn about Wilbur who doesn’t wash his hands, Wilma who waits too long to go, Arnold who needs to aim better, and Freddie who needs to remember to flush.  Whatever potty training issues you are having in your house, this book covers it in a fun way.

If you a potty training at your house, Potty Animals is a must have book!

The Fox and the Hen

Another great children’s book to check out is The Fox and the Hen. The story is pretty simple — Henrietta Hen laid an egg and the Red Fox tricked her into giving it to him. The book is about getting the egg back, and how Henrietta plays her own trick.  As an adult, I couldn’t really figure out why Henrietta Hen traded her egg away and then wanted it back.  However, my kids like the story.  Each page has a few sentences on it with a corresponding picture, so it was great for my new reader.  What she couldn’t read, she was able to work through by looking at the pictures.  Since each page is short, it is great for kids with short attention spans.  My kids did enjoy the end where he tried to cook what he traded for.

The Fox and the Hen is a fun book for kids.
