Virgin Health Miles
I wrote about how we were able to sign up for this program through my sisters work place over at My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings. This program is awesome. Granted, it does cost you a little every month. However, through the amount of exercise and steps you do, you are able to earn up to $400 by the end of the year! Also, it forces you to get in shape and out of plus size clothing (hopefully)!. You get a free pedometer, so you are able to get some instant gratification that what you are doing is doing something. I ended up with a little over 4,000 steps yesterday. Not bad for my first day (of course, not the 7,000 I was hoping for either!). Everybody needs a little motivation and money always works! I wish more insurance companies would step up and offer incentives like this.

Walking is my preferred method of exercise, too. In fact, we have a group of walkers at Iowa Avenue which is connected to Walker Tracker. If you’d like additional support and motivation, check it out………………….:)

I was reading the other day that a small town in Italy is paying its residents to loose weight! I think I shall pack my bags….ciao!
I have always wondered how many steps I would get on a pedometer…I have no clue how much my daily walking adds up!
Good luck to you.

I walk a lot less daily than I thought I would. However, my husband walks twice as much as he thought he did.

thats wonderful, i’m also a huge ‘walker’… instead of using my car, i walk for up to a mile just to visit my friends house… anyway, in this case ‘money moves mountains’, for many people, its quite hard to get motivated to exercise and diet… but in my opinion, self motivation beats all other external factors to make you committed with dieting…
