We had the opportunity to watch this movie, and being prepared to be shocked is a good way to say it. I didn’t so much mine the odd things in the movie, the living root under the bed, how she had to feed it to keep it thriving, or even the creatures. What did bother us were the horrific acts of violence, like the scene where the man in charge tortured those that defied him. During those times my stomach was in such knots we had to pause the movie. It was an interesting movie, just not one I would recommend to anyone with a weak stomach.
