Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta - Results 16.05.08

I want to thank everyone who entered. It ended up being an awesome giveaway — with all of the extra entries I had 348 entries! Who knew pasta was that popular? (Now, if I was giving away some sexy swimwear I wouldn’t have been as surprised. LOL) Onto what you all want to know:

Since that image is pretty small, the winner is comment #2 which is Connie from BrainFoggles!  I will be emailing her shortly!

Forever Stamps 12.05.08

Did you know that the stamp rate increased today? I had to mail the invitations for Will’s birthday party out, and I didn’t have any forever stamps. Instead, I had a bunch of 41 cent stamps. Nowadays though, I think the Forever Stamp is really your best buy. Why? Once you buy a Forever Stamp, you can always use it even if the rates go up.  I didn’t buy these the last time I needed stamps, so I got to spend my afternoon with two kids in the post office buying penny stamps.  What a waste of time!  Needless to say, I bought 100 Forever Stamps!

The Adventures Of Elmo In Grouchland 10.05.08

The Adventures Of Elmo in Grouchland is one of cutest kids movies I have seen a while. Elmo won’t share his blanket with Zoe (his friend) and ends up losing it in Oscar’s can. He journeys to Grouchland to get back his blanket and along the way he learns a lot about taking others feelings into consideration. Huxley (the villain) has his blanket, along with a lot of other things that don’t belong to him and Elmo tries to get his blanket back. It definitely teaches the kids about sharing without them even realizing it. It is a little over an hour, so it perfect for little ones attention spans. There are even a few jokes thrown in there for the adults! However, this is truly a kids movie. You don’t have to worry about diet pills or adult language here. It is a Sesame Street classic with all the gang.

The Alaskan Experiment 10.05.08

This is another new show on the Discovery Channel. I am not sure, but I think somebody did some market research and thought we need more shows about/in Alaska. Unfortunately, I have to disagree. I love Discovery Channel — I hate this show.  Honestly, I feel like I am watching Survivor.  If I wanted to watch that, I would tune into regular TV.  When I do find something interesting in the show, the people on it start whining again and ruin the moment.  I just find that The Alaskan Experiment annoys me more than anything.  I don’t find it interesting enough to keep my attention.  (If you haven’t seen the show, it is about a couple of teams that get dropped off in different parts of Alaska and they have to brave it on their own out there for 30 days).

Have you seen this show?  What do you think?

Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta 08.05.08

On Tuesday night, my family and I tried the new Pizza Hut Tuscani Pastas. They are 50 oz containers of either Creamy Chicken Alfredo or Meaty Marinara. You don’t have to do anything special — you just order it just like you do when you order pizza. The pasta dishes are $11.99 and feed a family of four. As you can tell from the picture of Will, this was a big hit for our family. We ordered the Meaty Marinara, and there was not one noodle left. When Pizza Hut was twenty minutes late, I was all ready not to like the pasta. However, it was piping hot and it was good.

Not only do you get the pasta, but you get five breadsticks with your order too! Pizza Hut has the best breadsticks ever, so this was a nice addition. This is something we are definitely going to be ordering again.

Now, if you want to try this at your house, I have a great deal for you. I’m having a giveaway for anyone who lives in the US. I will give the winner a a coupon for a free pasta dinner from Pizza Hut. I’ll make it super easy too and give you several ways to enter.

Super Fly Guy 08.05.08

Super Fly Guy is a fun book all kids should have. It has the some of cutest illustrations as you can tell from the cover of the book. Madison likes it and giggles every time we read it. The story is about a fly called Fly Guy and a little boy called Buzz. Buzz takes Fly Guy to school and you get to read all about it. Fly Guy doesn’t land on the teak furniture. Instead, he lands in the lunch room which leads to all sorts of chaos. If you want to find out what happens from here, you’ll have to read the book.

Mia Reading 07.05.08

Mia Reading is a computer game that Madison has been trying out for me. The age on it is 5-9, so she is tad young for it. That being said, we played it on the easiest setting. The first thing I was impressed with is the animation. It is highly detailed. My adult games aren’t done this well. You can control Mia by using either the keyboard or the mouse. This is good since Madison likes to use both. The goal of the level we were playing was that she had to direct Mia to find various items. Sometimes she would have to play various games to get the item. I had to help her a little. However, I did expect to have to help her a lot more than I did. She was able to locate most of the items without my help. Madison loved this game. We actually had to pry my laptop out of hands to get her to quit playing it. It completely held her attention, and I loved that it was educational. I would highly recommend this game to your little ones.
